06Hey, this is Gordon Bamford and you're watching MSN exclusive Girl I wanna retrial wrap you in moms right now never let go never let go I just gotta taste you baby, you know drives me crazy To be so far away When you lips So the video black and white we were just talking about this why black and white ah you know what decision was that well It's kind of both the director and mine. It's uh Something we've never really done before so we saw it and see the song so cool about why did you see the song? You know, it's just it's kind of got that moody type feel in that song and and not I shouldn't say dark But it felt like dark so that's Fair enough the record like I don't know when did you have time to write didn't you put in a record like a year ago?
57Yeah, you know, I just seen that and I was looking at a press release release today of some some stuff I guess it was just a year ago, but yeah, you know, it's just Seems like it's been almost two years, but it's flown by quick. Are you writing like constantly? Yeah, I do actually okay a lot a bit quite a bit, you know, we write I'll get right back at it here after this You know after this tour is over and start again, so maybe maybe right with Reba. No, yeah, I'll be good I think there's a lot of singles on this record. I don't see this one just going by any I don't it doesn't seem to be there. I see you you're everywhere at the moment every time I go on a website It's like hey by gourm Good, yeah, that's what you want right? So what would what would your choice be for the next single one? I think the next single is gonna be a song called unreal actually Okay, so yeah, I think we finally finalized that you want to talk about writing that one a little bit? Yeah
43It's a song I wrote with a Canadian guy the name of Phil O'Donnell who's He's had many hits he just had last George Strait number one and he's behind Gotta name of Craig Morgan produced his stuff But and a friend of mine body Owens who I wrote leaning on a loan some song with which is a song here this year in Canada so It's a little bit different for me. It's a it's a it's a big love ballad that that stretches me a little bit vocally and shows a little different side of me so I Think it's it's one of my favorites if not my favorites on the record so did it take it to take a while to write it I come easily. Ah, you know, then I Shouldn't say they didn't even come easily but they seem to you know be able to sit in the room with some really great guys and they do come off pretty quick and You know we've had a lot of luck that way. How does it does that process work?
31Well, it always starts with a title, you know, and then oh, okay. Yeah, it always starts with a title and then Either there's one or two guys in the room. Sometimes I write on my own not very much but I just always find two or three minds of it in one so it's It's just ideas but it always starts around a title and then a melody and away you go So speaking of well speaking of anything you're you're touring here doing some really interesting stuff Besides music on this tour. Obviously you do you want to explain what's going on? Yeah, you know, we're you know, I hope three of them I can tire obviously so that's yeah highlight for me, but I Were we're stopping at quite a few children's hospitals along the way in Canada here and donating money back from our foundation They need to hospital. I think we're distributing just over a hundred thousand dollars to children's hospitals and going in and saying hi and playing some songs and and You know trying to light up the room a little bit for those kids for just a little bit, you know
20And it's something that I'm very proud of and something that I look forward to doing every day. It's I've had a personal experience myself with our youngest little girl we spent time in the children's hospital and and they basically saved her life so it was Something that you know, I'm able to get back now with the way things are going and it's There's no better way to do it than go into those children's hospitals and and spend a little time with them and and help out a little bit Was it was a your little girl sparked the idea for this kind of thing? I guess it you know that really impacted it probably but I mean I've always been a big fan of kids and we've got three kids at home and Obviously having that personal experience with our little girl our youngest little girl definitely tugs at the heartstrings even more and becomes Opens your eyes up a lot more to you know
07How great and how many heroes we have in the hospitals and how great our hospital system is and How much in need that these kids are I mean the money's going towards a music therapy program Which runs in all the hospitals? I'm finding out now more and more and I Said their education system could take a little advice there because they seem to be cutting out music programs and all these schools which is ridiculous and then music is You know obviously it doesn't seem to be that important to them, but you can see how it really attracts people's lives and changes people's lives It's a big part of who you can be and what we can do so It's great that it's going back to that in the hospitals and the kids get a chance to You know put a smile on their face once once or twice in that day because that's what it does I was reading an article and said that I won't regret that kind of echoes the sentiments of what's going on right now
54Do you agree with that? Or was that just the right? Yeah, that's a song on the record that You know I try to have every record I put songs on about my life my family and when it'd be my kids This is the first record I've written stuff about my wife that unreal is a bad thing, but That's the thing for me is I just there's a lot of things in life that That you regret but being a good guy and doing the right things and and having the right morals in life is something that I'll never regret and part of this children's hospital Experience and being a father and a husband is is a big chunk of that and you know You can like I said you can be silly and do stupid things But there's certain things in life that I don't want to regret and that's not getting out and doing the right thing Right and it seems you're doing quite that right now. Yeah, it's great
40You know it's it's great for the soul and great for people around you. It's just a real real boost So we do something called five questions five quick questions one word answers. You're right Everyone's always gotten these same five questions. Okay. You look a little nervous Road or studio. Oh road Leonard McCartney McCartney when you hear a song what usually hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm Probably all of it but lyrics if someone's never heard Gore Bamford before Where do they start? Anywhere dial in iTunes Internet Yes, you're right. I'm trying to think of a song that tells it tells the best my story. I listen to listen
26I won't regret that brand. Oh cool in one word gourd Bamford Hopefully I'm real nice. Yeah, thank you very much. All right, appreciate it
