00I lived at the intersection of Landwood and Autumn Hill in Thornhill actually and I just you know always sort of walked down the street and was always like I want to use this. I want to use it as a lyric or as a song title something and then you know Tari and I were talking about it we were like bannium. Genius. And what can people expect from Autumn Hill?

51Yeah our album will be out in the spring and we're going to be playing a lot of the summer festivals which will be a lot of fun for us. Oh we can't wait to get the band out and start yeah yeah because you guys have just been playing stuff acoustically together now. I'm winning on these press days and what not. Absolutely. So what kind of band are we talking about? Are we talking like a full like 10-piece band? Are we talking the four-piece with you know our songs are coming from you somewhere in between yeah somewhere in between yeah like maybe five. Five is going to be the band show. That's the thing with anything at all. Yes. Absolutely. Absolutely. Half that. Yeah. So talk about meeting each other and deciding to to form this band because I've seen you do like Man on the Mirror on YouTube some covers and you have your own stuff going. So how did this come together? Well speaking of YouTube I threw something up on YouTube and the label saw it and I flew to Toronto

41and I was kind of working on my own personal solo career and bumped into Mike crossed paths with Mike and we wrote a song together and it was a great one so we just continued to write and then yeah before you know we had this album of material that we were like what are we doing with this? You know we were jamming at a Christmas party and we realized like that that's what we want to do this is this is the sound that we want you know we just sort of fell in love with the music that we were kind of making. And talk about making that music together is it do you write for her do you write for him how does the song write anymore? Well we write for each other you know it's always sort of like it's always funny it's like what would a girl say? Yeah. All right let's me know. Yeah. No it's it's great yeah we do we do a lot of writing and

29we wrote you know like like Troy was saying the first day we got together we wrote a song called Favorite Mistake which would be on the record and you know we wrote it in one afternoon it just sort of popped out so there's just something special. Did you know immediately that your voice has molded together so well was that something that you met on that first day? Yeah that was really surprising because initially we were writing the song for for myself and then he started just casually singing the harmonies and we were like oh wait a minute yeah it sounds really great with the male harmony on it so then when we were writing the second verse we were like wouldn't it be interesting if we wrote it from a guy's perspective so you kind of get more of a rounded picture of the situation and our songs are a little bit more you know all encompassing as far as perspectives go. And how about working with the Nashville songwriters I know you've been at Nashville a few times now. Yeah I mean that's a whole different experience working those camps in the groups and they're amazing.

18I mean Nashville is incredible every time we go down there we're just blown away by the amount of talent and creativity just in that city. It's just incredible. Were you welcomed with open arms? I hear everyone that just goes every Canadian musician that goes down there is just like oh yeah come on in come to this studio come to that studio and so nice. I mean speaking to studios you know we cut we cut some stuff at Blackbird Studios which is like you know the most beautiful inspired place in the world. Yeah it's gorgeous. You know we found ourselves you know one afternoon we're working in Blackbird and Nick Buddha's playing drums who plays for like Taylor Swift and you know it's just we're just blown away. We're just we're just sitting there being like how is it happening? It's been an incredible experience. So anything at all let's let's talk about the song a little bit. You talked about the guy's perspective a little bit but how did that one start? Where did that one come from?

05That one it's it's a really fun song to do I think because it's a lot of fun to sing and there's a little bit of a deeper meaning in there so when you know when we sing it we like to just kind of go to that place where you know there's that somebody that you maybe missed out on and you know we're getting a lot of you know tweets and whatnot and everyone seems to be feeling the same way I guess we're not alone in this you know should I miss that? It's hard break. No I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. It's so it's so different you know because it's it's such an upbeat song but but it is such a similar song. Yeah it is a fun song. I want to hear you riffing I hear your fan like Steve Riveon Jimmy Page and Hendricks. I want to hear these these riff and solos. Yeah he's incredible. Mike is like. It's like an half an on the record. Right now like we're going to air guitar.

54Yeah yeah there's there's a lot of great work on the record and and it's not just me you know I played guitars but we also had Derek Wells out in Nashville an incredible player and and yeah I'm we're really excited. We really love the record that we're making you know we couldn't be more more happy and I think more on point with the sound that we want to make and we're gonna hear that spring. Spring yeah okay and then summer festivals so if you want to come here some shredding. See you on tour cross-can another summer. Yeah. Maisie so we do something called five questions five quick questions one more five questions. Okay one word answer. One word answer. Yeah but they're one word. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. One word okay. Road or studio? Road. Oh studio. Letting her McCartney.

42I'll let it McCartney. When you hear a song it usually hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm. Melody. Melody. And I heard someone stole that one upstairs from me. Yeah. They answered. They asked what's more important. Yeah one of the things more amusing. Yeah yeah what did you answer that we couldn't we could. We could. We could. We were just like. Totally. I don't like that song you've written your most proud of. I love favorite Mississippi. Favorite mistake but it's two words. Oh my favorite. That was fun. That was fun. You as well. Yeah cool and one word on him. Bye.
