04Your call is being connected long-distance charges will apply hello Hey, how's it going? Very good Yeah, I've done it a bunch of times probably
51At least four maybe five times Certainly something we were aware of as a you know a good thing for independent bands to get on Our first trip Outside of the maritime was our first show at North of N.R.P. Which we've been quite a few years ago now probably seven Seven eight years ago and I was a huge deal for us just because we were coming up to Toronto to play a show Something we probably never thought would have happened when we started the band so it's it's been a big
37It was big stepping stone. I think I think you hope you hope to you hope someone an important season play and that It will just give you some kind of advantage. We didn't know what to expect to be quite honest. I thought it was going to be You know, I didn't quite realize when on our way up that it's really just spread out across the bar the different bars across the city Like we ended up at like Rancho relaxo. There might have been 20 people there You know, I think we were expecting something a little more grand initially, but that was just because of our experience with touring stuff I think they really do help just because
32There's enough bands coming that everyone who's interested in looking at Local acts that maybe or sorry independent acts that aren't from here that you can't see every day If someone wants to go see you they can and I know that we we made contacts through North of N.R.P. So it's No, it's definitely worth it I mean we've had a lot and a lot of the bands from Charlton that are younger than us Have had success as well like even you know they do those report cards and if you get a good report I mean people see that and If you have bad one people see that too. I like it's a cause for debate and something that Certainly gets your name out to some people they'll they'll have a reviewer oftentimes at the sets and They'll basically grade your your set those talk with music and
22Your stage president and stuff and they just kind of It's just a quick rundown of your set and then people can go on and look at Everyone else's I mean I wouldn't it's pretty subjective, but it's just another way that can cause some buzz It's it's a bit weird. I mean you can get kind of annoyed if you feel that they didn't give you a fair shape on something but but I know It's something you have to deal with I mean if you want to be in the industry at all So it's I mean you develop a thick skin as you go along, but it can be It can hurt you early on if you're some of this something bad We we got we've got a generally got pretty pretty good things said about it. It's been fantastic
18Which I mean it was just a week we had two really good shows in the Maritimes where we left home Doing like our own headline shows and then we played Ottawa and then we hooked up with Zeus for the rest of the week So it is four nights with Zeus and the last one is tonight and who never real blast it the nice mixture of music and I think the crowd likes both bands. So it's Well, we have tomorrow off and then we start recording our new CD on Monday on orange Sorry Yeah in orangeville So we're two weeks of recording and then we'll be back home for a show in Charlottown June 30th
12Yeah, yeah, it's been writing for a long time We're quite excited to be getting into the studio finally. Yeah, yeah Usually pretty easy to tell I'm it's either kind of a slower folk song or An upbeat one for two hour traffic. I find for two hour traffic. I have to try and write to the band like Map it out beforehand because I think naturally I write more slower folksy stuff if I'm not really Focusing on what I'm doing. So I got lots of songs that could be called express songs
59It's a little bit more of a challenge for me to write the pop songs, but we would like to Can they I've already We've jammed out some stuff so we Somewhere down the line. We'd like to do another Express release as well Studio Lenin
56Melody Strangers in the streets. That's gonna be on the new record. I'm fun. Let me think Made in America on the
45Kanye and Jay Z TV pretty sure that's it's called What else I must do She thinks I still care George Jones old country song And oh I know this one of the new great like swimmers songs the great exhale It's really nice What else did I have in the good now how what do I have free? Listen a lot to good stuff from Other song called that I wish it was over like Teddy Thompson
33It's pretty nasty I like his voice a lot Yeah One more Yeah, I was a fan of the first record And I mean I knew the guys before before there was even a zoo so I've always liked what all those that group of guys did I just love my favorite is still like it's a pretty obvious pick but like Are you gonna waste my time? I don't know if that's the gun title, but that one just kills so I can go with that Awesome and thanks a lot
