00Hello calling from that. Hey Titus. How you doing? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. I'm just adjusting the level here But you sound great coming in so that's perfect. So so things are well Things are great. So things are good man. I'm talking to the man in black. I'm very excited. I was hugely obsessed But I mean who wasn't right I'm sure you still get stuff probably on a daily Something that will find exactly well maybe we'll start there is that something you want as an actor to be known
00Well, I guess obviously to be known to be remembered but but I mean given the fact you play so many characters every time You know and I'm sure you know Everyone has this problem. We see you as as that person as opposed to maybe the character from time to time Is that is that something that has plagued you? No, not of shelf life and in in some shows and it's not like I've been a plector of
46And what do you look for in a role? What it what what it what entices you I guess about the the recent work you've been doing
40Something that is that's really if the writer has done a good job on the exterior. I
33My hope is always there's nothing I can like what what would challenge you what what kind of rules are you trying to seek out? Well, I would say hunting stuff and also to take a character that might be collaborative open relationships
42Was it like that a lot on deadwicks I've heard you say that there weren't completed scripts before you began shooting it was kind of Here you go an hour beforehand Yeah, I mean that was certainly there but I'd love to hear about that. That's so fascinating. It must keep you on your toes as an actor Yeah, I said I said to somebody, you know, it's kind of like Navy field training, you know for an actor once you once you've worked with David and You You just it changes you as an actor deal with a tatation
16Are you are rehearsal actor? Do you enjoy rehearsing if you sat there and you've clocked this gonna be kind of doing
07What when do you get into character? Is it is it when Director says action is it beforehand? Is it in the trailer? When do you feel? Your I guess Rob and promised land or Bates and Argo and something like that You know, I I spend I spend time that I take a script Which is something that I learned and when I was at New York, you really and I Learned from him how to you know beat to beat to beat through the entire script and that that tool is in value
09A lot of that is kind of in that there's this you might even you might the guy carries the 30 just indulged me back
44Just because I I'm on your side screen. Yeah Well, I'm saying I never sit around it as a candy But then we'll move on maybe to to I mean you've worked with Ben three times now and Argo's nominated for everything
37So so maybe we'll discuss that and and how his progression as a director has changed at least in the scenes you've worked with him Have you noticed a change or has there been any any differences to the way he approaches a scene? Never occurred to me that this is the first time Ben was directing himself because many many times and I shot it from the Ordinarily I guess it's just at the town and and it's also it's he kind of
54his generation of history and just immense. He's just immensely long and he would
17Is there something that an actor brings to directing that that a director coming from? Film school or just doing indie films? I guess the way things are done now that is there something that an actor brings to that that role that that maybe a director wouldn't see That because Ben understands the language of actor he can be very I mean He just gives me at the end of the day when he's just want you to walk and he's laughing
43I just was not about performance is totally For you to indulge me because it's not I mean if he said now he actually I want you to wear that nose I think that works for me. That's fine because I have complete trust and he's the first it doesn't work
31So I take that back You mentioned working there got me thinking you got to you have to play a little humor with Francis in promised land I watched it the other day and How does the process differ from from working with with Ben or is it similar to working with Gus like how do they differ? How are they similar? I didn't say to me. I really want you to be the present and then you know, I'm Dorman who's worked, you know
26I've loved since blood simple He's you know all so incredibly charismatic It's when you're working with that caliber Zinski and Matt and those people are nothing I mean you just kind of show up and swing you know and and do your thing Do you find it do you find it easy to jump from character to character or it is?
14To get to get back into it if you're working on several things that you know over the course of year if you have to go to reshoots Or if you have to go back to a television show that kind of thing Do you find it easy to jump from character to characters easy to get back into? The person you were a week ago Yeah, I do when I was shooting When I was shooting the town and Sons of Anarchy So you know, I mean well
03It's also because the writing is really good and so and it's can you know consistently good So I kind of you know that being said but had my brothers I you know I only because you know that that kind of gypsy Trapped to be with my kid that particular you know going from bus Angeles and back to you know, I can imagine
37I'm really sorry to hear about Beth as well Thank you, but that's a true talent Yeah Yeah Really physically continue and move she had more said than anyone else
22Enlightened me and educated me environment, but I got to go to Switzerland with you
22You need to go and do this movie and if it goes sideways, I'll call you and you get on a plane But I'm telling you I want you to do this film And that was the believe me the process of shooting with that and the balance and ordinarily difficult There's no question of you know knuckle down and enjoy the experience of shoots tremendous
09You know anxiety not only proud of the intelligence that it portrays and and the issue that it addresses which is very which is deeply serious
56Yeah, absolutely and I Don't know how to segue out of that But but you were up in our country shooting poker night because I'm in Canada Yeah digging it man. I was up. I was my first time on Victoria Island. And would you think I mean look I'm not gonna lie to you. I can do without that freezing cold rain that is Trading but you know, I should probably have a Canadian passport. I work in Canada so much what else on up here? Oh I mean I've shot multiple pilots in Canada. I shot I've shot what I'll tell you that and so I did off the building but what is it? What is it? What are you playing it?
39Who do you play? I play a detective? It's about a group of Detectives who've been brought into this star team of detectives to get together and they they've Brought this young detective under their wing and include what's next what what's next on your agenda?
03I'm just you know, it's it's that time of year for Propilets even so on you know, I'm looking at I'm looking to find the right fit very game to to do another series and to do it and you know And my feet into something was dying and she passed away and you know Michael Bay
53He ain't no slouch himself maturity and resilience and To myself, but you know tomorrow's another day and right we just won the light it can return to the
47Joy right in the participation absolutely man and every day every day. I don't mean to be morose I don't mean no, but at all but that's that's what you're going through right now. So I understand that's yeah, you know We always close interviews that with something called five questions five quick questions one word answers Hitchcock or Kubrick Leonard McCartney Christopher Walken or Al Pacino because I know you do both impressions Ha ha ha roll your most proud of cool and in one word Titus well over.
