05Hey guys. Hey mom, let me do that. I need to relax. You got a big day tomorrow. Ellen, I'll be right out. I'm not going to repeat myself, so I suggest you all listen very carefully. So hostages, new show. Yes. What's it about for people who are eagerly anticipating Kid Donna's return to television? Well, the president of the United States needs surgery and his surgeon, played by Tony Collette, my wife. Her and her family get taken hostage the night before the president's surgery and they say listen tomorrow morning you kill the president or your whole family gets killed.
52And it's kind of a unique show because it's a thriller hostage action kind of thing but it's also like a family drama. And it's fun. It's really, it's a real page turn. I was like, I guarantee you're not going to be bored for a second in the pilot. You can't be any more of this. You're threatening. Separate them. What was your holiday card two years ago? You call your mother every Thursday and the same day J.K. Tyquando, Brian H. Chocolate, more of his favorite color is random. Do we need to continue? What attracted you to, was it the script? Was it the character? Why did you choose this? Out of all, I'm sure a lot of stuff was offered to you. The script is super, not a lot of stuff was offered to me about it.
40No, I'm telling you. They don't offer things in television. I'm telling you. It's shocking. But anyway, what was I going to say? What was the question? Character. Character. Right. How can we, how can white house statues? Well I read the script and it was just, it was so much fun. I mean it's really, it's really good. It's got this sort of unique sort of feel to it of like a, this is what really would happen. It's not only actually held hostage. This is what would happen. And everyone, all the characters are different shades of gray. It's sort of unlike a lot of network television. We all have secrets and not such great parts of our personality and they all sort of come
29up when our family's in crisis. What you're saying downstairs, you're not the greatest husband perhaps. Is one of your things that we find out in the first episode. I would not say I was the best husband. Well if cheating is considered not a good thing. I would think so. That's not good for a relationship is it? No. Not a married committed relationship. Well I think any relationship is going to suffer so someone's not there cheating. That never helps the situation. No, it never probably does. No. Now that I think of it. You're not the loving husband you pretend to be. That's why you're going to tell your wife to cooperate. Just do what they want and then everything can go back the way it was. Except I'm the one who has to live there. Where did you find Brian? Where in the research where did you come from to find Brian? Well Brian's kind of like he starts out, you know he's like a, you think he's a very
16successful businessman and he's happily married and he's kind of like a stern father but you know a good father. And it sort of turns out that he's not any of those things. And it's always fun to play someone who isn't what they appear. You know it's always just you know it's what actors like to do. It's you know to be sincere is kind of boring. So to sort of get off the text and be lying a little bit. You know not exactly how you appear is fun. How's my wife today? No change Mr. Carla. Miss Mommy coming home. Soon okay. When this is finished we'll begin it together.
