00Hello hello around the tour bus one of the tour bus want to give the listeners like a brief little description of what what's on here The tour bus looks like moving Ikea store. It's very modern There's big giant plasma TV sets and surround sound and that's a very pampered spoiled tour bus Yeah mirrored roof and everything. Yes. Oh, yeah with a little with a little lights It's got these little lights here that change like colors. Oh like a limo kind of yeah, it's pimpin Yeah, you ever pimp your ride? Yeah, I did actually yeah, I got this tiny little euro car and I bought these Sports I bought these sports rams and low-profile tires for and it looks really really cool for a little midget car Yeah, set the shelf for the tune the way we do it here is I'm gonna name you two tunes you pick which one and one

48Okay, so first one cute without the eight is my favorite tune. Okay, I'm all of the acoustic version. How come? Cute are the normal acoustic version probably the normal version. Okay, yeah, because acoustic stuff so Cute that the take back Sunday long island music scene whole bunch of bands came out. Yes

37Oh, yeah, it's a long on hardcursing is What we call it the hardcursing but to the world it's punkin emo, yeah, whatever that means but uh for where I'm from Where I grew up, I'm 32 so I've been going to shows since I was like 12 Yeah, and it's always been long island or New York and it's always been like this breeding breeding area for just garage, you know basement punk rock shows and hard-work shows and So many great bands came from there and even before like when I was a kid other great bands came from there, you know like Even if it wasn't punk rock, you know, it's like twist the sister like you name it Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, you know like classic rock bands, you know a lot of people say the music it's coming out from Long Island

24It's well, it was huge and it still is huge. Yeah, but it's never gonna die You don't see those bands coming out as much anymore You guys are pretty established now. I think The scene there is still very huge and it's just it's just kind of going back to underground It's kind of like you know all the major labels have had their fun of picking and choosing and now It's like now the world's not doesn't really have their iron that area anymore kind of like Seattle like you know Seattle's you know you don't hear about Seattle anymore, but there's still a big scene there, you know, so I can care less I was really excited that Long Island finally got what it deserved the recognition because we have been a very we're very proud When you're from Long Island or New York area, you're very proud of it because it's like Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island

09It was like I don't know if I should curse, but it was the it was the shiznet Next to DC and and it was just a awesome Place to learn how to just be who I am today So it's cool that it got its recognition and it's also cool that you know people need to go find something else to put their fingers into so You know, I guess it's always gonna be there. It's never gonna go away. Oh, you know the name take max Sunday There's also Thursday out you guys kind of came out of it at the same time at least no I years Yeah, it probably wasn't the same time at all. No, um, but Thursday's been around Well, I would say that we bands that start up around the same time, but Thursday's been around a little longer But I've known Jeff Jeff for ages. I mean since you know we were younger

57My older hardcore bands are we used to play in his basement in his house in New Brunswick, you know Because New Brunswick was famous for basement shows, you know and Long Island was famous for its, you know P-wack shows which was this huge venue that we all ran that was the people of AIDS Coalition and every show we We booked which was huge could be sick of it all for Gazi or whoever But we paid the ban and the rest of the money went strictly to to the AIDS Foundation and it was strictly you know volunteer So yeah, so anyway, but I knew Jeff for a long time and so yeah, I would say Thursday's been a little longer But I'm wondering about the name you both have days of the week. Oh, yeah I don't know I don't know what their reasons were for Thursday, which is a great name. Yeah, um take my son It was a it was taken from the name of one of the song I used to like

47From this demo of this long Island melodic band emo band Called the waiting process and The basis in the band James is a very close friend of mine. He's battling cancer, so it's just it's just one of those kind of The lyrics meant something to me It's and it's also kind of like you know Sunday was like the Sunday matinee shows And it was just a day to spend with people you love your friends and stuff So it was kind of like a sacred thing and that's why we I named the band take my Sunday like years ago and six years ago Seven years ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's come a long way. Yeah. Yeah, I mean clean up changes left and right but You know it worked out for the better I guess that in a couple seconds and yeah, probably don't talk with too much Take another two new American classic or bonus martial part, too

35See now before I made a comment that acoustic songs are for wimps Yeah, but I'm a wimp for new American classic When I was moved to minutes and I'm seconds away Just ask the question come untie the love say you won't care

25Say you won't trace the steps as if we forgot say you won't care Say you try to And there's all that we Is just a reaction is too much to ask for when there's no attraction

16It's just a distraction I want to remember Say you say you want to retriss You should new American classic sitting here with Eddie from take max Sunday

21I want to talk about straight later on just for a second and then you guys don't want to if you heard the record Do you like the record? I bought the record? Yeah? Yeah, it's it's good. It's good for what it is and those guys are working really hard and I'm happy for them cool. So yeah, I don't think it's really in your heart feelings. Oh, it's good to know yeah But I'm you know, it's one of those things where I concentrate more on my band Then I do other bands so I actually went out. I mean amongst all the all the hype and rumors and what people love to you know Exaggerate on the internet and make things worse than what they really are I went out and I bought the CD in the first day You know you support it even though they're band members who aren't in a band anymore. You have to support it

06Definitely I mean that single and the video is amazing. I love it. Yeah, like it too. It's cool. Oh, yeah It's all I want to talk about. Oh, no, it's awesome. I was just the other day. I was making comment about those bastards told my idea on the video No, but it's it's a sweet video. It's a sweet single and so It's a good out good out very good out. It's very different. Yeah, it is very different doesn't sound like no I could I'm something that I would never do and that's something that they wanted to do and that's why they went did it Yeah, is that one of the reasons for the band? Yeah, just um just difference in me not me you know It's what you know, I'm more into the melodic, you know like me and that I'm everybody went to that and their John is Composer, so it's what he wants to you know Cool. Yeah, right you're back on the road which Jimmy world again. Yes a long time. Those are no

56No, no actually no, but that was a mistake. I don't want people say that we played four shows with them Oh, I was reading an interview and yeah guys were talking and it just happened to be one of yeah Yeah, when they first started they toured with them. That's cool that you're back. Yeah, yeah They did a tour the second half of a toy that we did but we weren't on the tour with them Oh, but we played a couple shows with them, but this is our first Jimmy world tour That's an awesome experience. I mean I didn't grow up listening to these guys, but I Well, no see, okay. Let me rephrase that like I have probably every single Jimmy world seven inch out there that Oh nice that I could brag about and be like you don't even have you even know what they sound like so I have like every Jimmy world seven inch and just I've they've been a big inspiration in my life

42Especially in like the mid 90s, you know, they they kind of helped me go from being a hardcore kid to a Wow instead of playing these power chords. Let me actually make up a you know sweet melody out of it. So I would say that there I would say That's sounding really gay about it and making an asset myself and being that guy I would say that Jimmy Atkins is probably one of my guitar idols though. I am the same age as him Nice to know and I'm gonna tell him that one day in this tour, but I don't want to blow it Yeah Friends with bands when you tour with them like yeah I said you had a couple of shows them a few years back. Do you remember you guys? Yeah, they know who we are I mean, you know, we never really bonded or were like best friends with them, but Every band we totally just want to be friends. There's no reason not to be friends

31I mean we've been on tours with bands who weren't nice to us and it's just like like who I plead the fifth, but they know who they are and And it just sucks So why would I want to do that to someone else or when I'm have the opportunity to take bands out or or what? Like or when I'm on tour with other bands who are co-headlining or sharing it, you know, like it's all about friends and family and shit You know not about competition So definitely I didn't mean like so it's awesome, but no it's a good question because it's it's It's very important to make friends everyone because then it's awkward. Yeah, it's like you're walking around like You know, it's not fun walking around being quiet and sticking to yourself You kind of want to you know bullshit with everyone and just you know start your own little friendships and it's cool

16Yeah, I think people always wonder what it's like backstage at everyone always thinks it's big parties girls everywhere I mean now just backstage is just sometimes I mean when I'm we're not gonna lie and say that that never ever not happens You know like my wife asked me you have girls sitting on your lab I'm like yeah, it happens sometimes but I don't ask them to sit on my lab I just happen to be there and whoa this party pops up. No, that was bad No, no most of the times I mean everyone's got this idea that backstage is you know drinking and partying and it's really not it's dudes taking showers and Relaxing and going good show and either going on the bus and or the people who do want a party go out to a bar, you know 70s anymore no that got away from that too many people died really yeah, I mean half of them died of heron overdoses or died of AIDS or died of something and it's just not worth it

05It's not and it's not to me rock and roll like I mean I know everyone's like it's not rock and roll if you're not doing drugs You're fucking passing out you know At the border crossing or throwing up on whatever and star and fights like to me That's I grew up in the hard core scene of punk vaccine It was very DIY and very politically correct scene like you know whether you were straight-edge or whether you were you know Deeply into you know changing the government like I mean we never really were like that our music scene So now that our scene's big we carried that on to how we are now you know I mean but I'm not gonna say that has been crazy nights because there's always a crazy night, you know I mean up in Canada. I guess I guess yeah Oh a lot of them I won't get into that because if my wife ever got a hold of this She there was a lot of

52Puck binge drinking here in Toronto now. It's just one of those good times, but uh, yeah, I mean It's fairly boring actually. Yeah, this is right now what you see sitting back there is on the bus is basically all it is That's it you feel like you live on the bus nowadays. I do. I feel like it's my second home. It's wait when I'm home. I Feel like I'm visiting really when I'm on the bus. I feel like I'm at home Probably best for the people coming out to see shows. Yeah, I feel more comfortable Yeah, but there's also times where I hate it and I just want to be home So I I love everything that is happening for us and everything I do But I I'm pretty sure none of my band members would ever deny the fact that they wish they could just go home and stay home for a

37Well, you know, yeah, definitely throw on another tune two things off the album and decade under the influencer this photograph is proof Take it in influence because it kicks balls Is you just joining us sitting here with Eddie from taking back Sunday?

51What did you feel like you made it? Hello? It's like coffee's not kicking in yet. Sorry When did I feel like I made it? Yeah, when like you made a big quit your job and you're like yes, you know Three days ago and in Shik and Illinois and Champaign, Illinois I took a walk through the park a lot and saw a bunch of kids parked with their cars and trunks open and people would like You know coolers and they were like blasting music and being like well like a real metal band back in the old days and I was like rules And I actually went and sat with a bunch of dudes on their car and just hung out with them Yeah, yeah, yeah, what were they like were they like they're cool fans? Yeah people cool man people the kids alike us aren't They love us and they respect us and they and they support us and but they're not like you know

39I'm not ever afraid of them. It's been one or two occasions webbing afraid, you know, but other than that I'm fairly comfortable around them It's like being about it's like being around a bunch of your friends. Yeah, so it's pretty cool We're fairly we're fairly down to earth like we don't Yeah, the egos and the rock and roll and I'm to important for everyone shit. Yeah at the window with us We don't care about that stuff. That's good. Yeah Tom Delaunce directed the photograph video. Well, I didn't even know he directed anything was it his first time doing it Yeah, he blows Tom Delaunce our Tom Delaunce could eat the big one. All right now. He's awesome. Ah It was a very tiring process to shoot an evidence we flew in Shout all day flew out landed the next day played a show

25So it's like really really really beaten up and the time the long made it really fun and made it really relaxing He's just like us. He's just like another dude. Yeah, where where where from so it's it was just easy. It was cool Is it hard to perform in a video like without a without fan screaming around like you just kind of it's it's it's awkward It's definitely awkward but Tom made it easy for us because you'd like run around and scream while we're doing it Fuck you know like that those up. That's yeah, bleep bleep bleep. Sorry. Hell yeah, man. Hell yeah Yeah, so he made it fun for us because all the video shoots were absolutely horrible well The cute that the video shoot was fun because it was just us and our friend who shot it. Oh, yeah Yeah, so but the other videos were like people you know

13Standing here stand there. Okay. No act. It's like dude You know you can't act when you want to do it, you know when it's something that you do for real, you know So it was fun cool. Let's play another tune great romance is the 20th century or Timber rules at New Jersey I'm gonna I'm gonna step out of that one I'm gonna let you pick it because those are two very very fun songs of mine that I like to play I'm gonna play great romances then there you go First song we wrote really with with the very first song that we rewrote when Adam became our singer When you that you rewrote every rewrote it was it was different about it was it was a little different. It was a little Wasn't good So Adam joined a band and it got good fair enough. That's a great work cool here it is

02Right now Fred's welcome by my friends a hill up ever froggy boys Fred sick, and he's probably gonna get me sick now

45Want to talk to you about the downloading music. Yeah, you think it's helped your heart more the illegal downloading not the legal stuff the illegal yeah, um Man, I don't want to be hypocrite because I downloaded to back in the day, but Now that I'm on the other side of the picture It is I'm all for downloading as long as they You know they download it and they like it and they actually go out and buy the CD or they'll come out to a show And buy the ticket and or buy the merch and help the band out, you know I'm not for people who are downloading and then bootlegging it or downloading it and and just like you know I mean that It's a touchy subject because you can go either way when many you love it when many you hate it So I'm not against downloading as long as they go and support the bands if you're downloading you're not supporting the bands

36And don't waste their time Because they have bills of pay and they have families of feed and they probably worked Really effing hard to get to where they are more than the people who downloaded it did no offense to that It's true, you know, but Shit, I just downloaded now last week. So here you go. I'm like I say Lately I'm listening to the new child that I like Spankle block party. It's pretty good. I want to see what the hype was about and Yeah, they're like an English fan The hype is you know what it is. I think they're good I don't think they're like the what the hype you're making them have to be I think they're really good I mean, I like the CD and I'm listening a lot of keen. Yeah, I don't like softer stuff

25Like the direction the bands gonna take maybe if that's what you're listening to no no we'll never we we're always Our albums always a mixture of everything soft songs heavy songs fast songs slow songs That's the way we like to keep it so if we all if we went all slow, I don't really think people would be into it No, no, I mean maybe maybe you know, maybe our six out on will release a whole Autistic album that'd be cool. Yeah, that'd be really awesome, but right now. It's not the time for that you guys been working on the record All we've we've mostly been rehearsing for this tour. Yeah, but we snuck in a song or two During a rehearsal so we're playing we're playing live tonight. Oh, yeah, yeah first time when you do it all the first is the first time ever

11With playing them actually yes in Canada. No one of them is in Canada, but the other one we've been playing the last three shows Yeah, fair enough. I like a lot. No, I don't know. I mean I love Canada, but come on. They really think you know Talk to you also about the future rock music how things are moving hip-hop's coming huge now Yeah, and rock music's kind of going on the back burner and I don't I don't think so just another record sales That's what I'm seeing record sales you think I Downloading rock music and buying hip-hop at least that's what I'm seeing yeah, which is too bad Hi, I'm not a fan of hip-hop anymore. I used to be well It's just it has no meaning anymore. It's about you know, it's about who's got you know, it's about

57exploiting Women every video is the same video It's a it's either they're walking into a club in slow motion and have some hot chick dancing cracker ass hanging out and They're you know showing off their blank bling and their car that they probably rented for the video Including the models and it's just like it's boring man. It's not hip-hop hip-hop was like tribe called Quest They last sold like leaders new school like Eric being rock him like that was that's when hip-hop was hip-hop When you sung about the streets and about survival and all that not about how much effing money you're making or how many Bitches you got you know, I mean like and and the fact that they degrade women. It doesn't and the women allow it too It's just so weird like I'm from well from again is it the DI well

42I'm from the heart-cressing where it's like you didn't degrade women, you know, you didn't you didn't call a Woman your bitch or ho or you know, you know, I'm talking about it. It's just I Think it's it's very sad. It's very boring and I don't see why people are so into it. It's just it's getting boring. I think I think You know rock and roll's always been around punk rock's been around since the late 60s, you know It's never gonna go away. So just because it's not in the spotlight then that's totally cool But it's still big, you know and hip-hop just needs to change and these are rude awakening No, I don't know man, I mean I love What's the name? Kai West no, Kanye West is awesome And it's just they're just only a few people like I mean most deaf is the man

32But I mean I don't know. It just it needs it needs some originality it needs to like yeah is there's enough of the huh and yeah, yeah and the gold teeth and yeah, you know it's funny because Adam just went and got gold teeth just to be funny because he's He like he also feels the same way like, you know, like hip-hop's kind of lost its It's meaning like it has no meaning no more well. There's no money Yeah, and it's like I grew up I grew up in New York I grew up on streets in New York, you know, I mean I grew up in Brooklyn Queens and you see mextaves being traded around Yeah, man, I grew up I grew up with Dale. I was so hanging out in my house because they went to high school with my brother Really? Yeah, and that's a cute tip and all those dudes and it's like I grew up I mean I grew up I'm from Amiville and Amiville in wine dance was like the center of hip-hop like back in the early 90s, you know you had tribal quest and

23leaders in new school which which bus arrives was from and So I grew up with hip-hop. I grew up with punk rock. I grew up with all that but I just now today I just think it's just it's just It's it's almost like it's almost like entertainment. It's almost like wrestling It's just fake, but it's entertaining. So I think that's why people will keep you know, I guess supporting it cool answer All right, go for another tune number five with a bullet or I'm Fred Astaire Number five of the bullet Because it it's kick ass balls Ready from taking back Sunday hello a couple more questions hello

52Like he's special that's what you really thinking right now in your head his guy is nuts 32 and he acts like a child Yes, I do and I love you for me Not negate way though five questions one word answer. It's not gay if it's on the road Oh, no, all right creepy. What's up? Oh, what's the next question five questions one word answer favorite album of all time? Favorite album of all you can't do that to someone first one you can think of okay favorite album I've all favorite album of all time. Yeah, I Could give you my top five favorite. I'm off top your head. I Man, that's so hard man. What do you think what records influenced you more than any others than you think well Who

40Well right now my top five favorite albums are the coups greatest hits MC5 The best of MC5 just like classic, you know the band that started punk rock is MC5 by far Sex vessels none of those bands not screw those bands MC5 is the reason why punk rock and why we are here today That's it point point Bad brains against I it's like one of my favorite all-time classic The cure disintegrations like one of my all-time favorite records, okay my all-time favorite record of all time I could say it right now Spankle quicksand and the album is called slip It came out in 94 on poly

26On polydoor records quicksand was probably one of the biggest bands They were what our bands are doing now back then and they changed they were from Wolf's rifles They were all different members of all great hardcore bands like early biscuits and stuff like that And they just formed this new band that changed the face of hardcore in New York and made it instead of being so hard It made it more intelligence and and that album changed my life, too. Cool. Yes. Yes I don't know McCartney McCartney I love McCartney cool, so tomorrow, and John was awesome, but McCartney was the shit You think you still is yeah still alive So rain songs

12I mean they were all great for they did John I had some great songs, but John learning kind of lost it there for a little while and McCartney just kept doing it with wings and like everything else, you know I think I think you just him and Yoko went into their own world and just got little greedy with their You know got a little selfish with their with their ideas that I think John Lennon could have could have Shared more with the world. I mean he did but not fully But I mean he had some great songs. I'm gonna be wrong, but personally when it came to just by voice I love McCartney's voice. Oh, it's a lot of yeah Yeah, I could see you guys you guys the way you guys sing are a little more like cartney rather than London Yeah, yeah, and we're all big Beatles fans, so yeah, it's very

58I would say like when you listen to us as a band you a lot of people say they hear the cure and they'll hear like You know McCartney or they'll hear like the who and it's totally awesome because that's what we want like It's all the mixture of bands and we like cool little kids. Oh no not the older kids As always I kind of picked that out nice. I was Holly marijuana I'm not gonna lie. I mean I like smoke a ball But it's bad few kids it's bad No, I love to drink Socially which is once in a while But uh, I like to smoke But I'm not but I'm not a pothead no no

44No, I'm what you call well a pothead is someone that wakes him But it's like you know he wakes in Bakes and he's she rolling another one in the afternoon and he's smoking another one And you know read for a sundown and then he's smoking for his going to bed a person who is a who just likes to chip Smokes like he's a relaxed mature smokers someone who comes home from works and packs a bowl and Smokes a bowl and watches TV and that goes a bit. I'm not a pothead. Awesome. Okay, we're not potheads. No, we're not potheads No, just casual smokers awesome casual smokers. Yeah, exactly one one answer sex drugs are rock and roll Sex drugs or rock and roll you only pick one well I'm TBS I question all time, but I think in the start yeah sex drugs or rock and roll You can have either without wow, that's I mean sex drugs are that's kind of harsh

36You gotta have the rock and roll I mean sex is great, but and I mean pot is good I'm not into anything else. I don't condone to use a lot of drugs. No either The rock and roll cuz without rock and roll I don't know our lives would be boring We'd be into Yani Gay dude, come on no offense to the gay people. I know I love you all You guys roll One word Loving cool we love everybody. Thanks so much. I appreciate it. Yes. Thank you one song to close off though

24Your favorite TBS tune my favorite TBS song Ooh Probably well, what do we play so far? We play to the new American? No. Yeah, we did play new American classic decade under influence great romances and Number five with the bullet Yeah Um 180 by summer is another one of my favorite ones. That's a really good song. I don't know if you have that on your list But no, it's not what it's not to be. Yeah 180 by summer cool I know exactly what go that you were for

14Finger on the trigger or me face down down across your floor Face down down across your floor as this thing's loaded the songs Explain

12I know exactly what goes on So How about I'm outside of your window You can't bother teachers cover you such a sucker for soccer And will you tell all your friends? You've got your gun to my head The song was only wishful You're gone to my head The song was only wishful The song was only wishful The thousand cover lines to me

39Cover napkins I won't ever ask you yet to never tell me I know you have enough to know you never I know you're the best to stop Nothing happened to me I'm the best to cover I'm the best to know you I don't know you I'm the best to stop the things I won't ever ask you I don't know the town You are the best to stop the things
