09This guy wants to sleep. Yes, many times. Oh, yeah, it's on set of course So you're swatching out the ghost. No mostly at Kevin's house Yeah, they were shooting he was like yeah, so we do the last shot He's like yeah come over like three hours. I'll have it done like the movies. Yeah, yeah guys nuts. It's amazing I guess for directing he like he sees a shot. He's like okay. I got this shot. I got this shot We got he's editing his head bro. Do you want another day? You can do another one if you want I'm fine It's beginning so how long to take you to get the monologue I heard he wrote it like the day before for you So he likes she got the first time great and he was like that He was in want to do it again the first time I heard him say he's like you can have another like maybe sort it up a little bit

55She's like yeah, I got it. Thank God. I got that second take because the first take I was thinking about like what Where do I look at I'm my cross-eyed right now Am I saying and what's happening like where and then I started seeing like the little lines in between the camera? And I was like this is not I was getting really distracted And I was wanted to watch this and there's like I'm supposed to like tenderly put her hand on her face And I was like this And then there was like a fan coming in and you could really just lose it in that kind of moment But we didn't that's right. He wrote the for you the day before the day before and I learned it that day and Along with it was just 14 pages in general of new dialogue and when it's a back-and-forth scene

42I think it's a lot harder. He had one yeah the podcast in long Yeah, we had the podcast scene and it was cool Because Kevin when we finally got on set and started working with him He sort of got a feel for what we were like and started writing more for us and and he's not demanding with the dialogue That he brings in he's like here's 20 pages of dialogue. You don't have to learn it, but I wrote it And so you want to learn it? You want to do it right? So Justin I were at lunch just like sweating and going like going back and forth and everything and yeah I would prefer a monologue to learn because you can sort of fumble your way through it But yeah, Justin and I had to be like really locked in with that stuff and about Six percent of what we shot makes it in the movie so So it was worth it. Yeah, yeah, you mentioned cross-eyed before and I got me thinking that scene with I don't want to say

28I'm gonna say gee. I'm just gonna say gee. Yeah try to keep it a mistake. Yeah Canadian actor. Yeah great You know point how hard was it to keep a straight face because I'm sitting there just watching it cracking up the whole time Yeah, sorry go ahead It was like I was really glad to be there with Genesis because it was someone to just have a look with because we were like right up in his face we just met this you know legendary Canadian actor Gila Plon Yeah, like after his long takes and everything we could just be like this is crazy. This is awesome We have this opportunity. We texted each other. We were like we are the coolest people It was cool, but no, yeah, it was hard because He's very intense in his scene and he's cross-eyed. So you're like And you don't want to play to the comedy. You just don't know you can't. Yeah, this is a very high stakes

17Moment. Yeah, and a lot of the things that are funny in there did not register when we were shooting it I think that's that's something that helps This guy is telling us all these horrible things that may happen to a character that we care about Except the two of us laughing because we look so serious and you do a very serious and really enjoyable scene to watch an audience member I was cracking up when we were watching it, but yeah the putini weenie got me Where he you know which is I'm such an awesome piece of like cinema lore now is that Michael Parks and Gila Plon Doin in the same scene together and it's a long scene and they have this like stupid like French Canadians In the scene which is a wonderful Shade of emotion that Kevin puts into all this. Yeah. Yeah, but it was it was also neat because he's so humble and

05And polite like you mind if I smoke and yeah, oh, yeah, that's the ring. I got it. You may have heard of this movie on blow Talking about the premiere what what's it like to watch yourselves? How are you guys with that weird? Yeah, is it still? I like it all your life though. You're not used to it yet when I was a kid So we when we did like big studio films you do like a dozen like premieres Yeah, we did you know London and Tokyo and all this stuff So you'd see the movie all in the same period of a few weeks so many times that I think it just made me like not Desire to see myself on the very much and it's a weird thing because And now because playback is so easy that you can sort of and and with Kevin would give us like 40 minute chunks of the movie at lunch

52And everything is that it's cool to like tweak things and to have like to have a third eye But it's also you don't want to overthink it You know and you want to develop that muscle that allows you to know how you've done in a scene without watching the playback Yeah, I don't know for you with the monologue watching yourself staring at yourself sitting there in the theater. It's so weird Yeah, that's really weird because you're like, oh wow, yeah, that's me No, but it's it's cool. I like to do it to just to I like to I'm my biggest critic I'm like, oh, I could have done this like this, but when you nail a scene for your standards. You're like, okay, I'm okay Like because the midnight madness I was like, oh people don't use like stupid stuff because it's this long monologue It's very quiet. It was dead silence in the theaters. I could be good or bad

42People were in there. Yeah, I have yet to see that this week that makes me happy because yoga hoses you go back tomorrow You're back at work. You go back nine hours. Yeah Crazy. Yeah, we're yet in the movie. What's the process like? I don't know where we're at in the movie. It's a weird movie So we really another weird one It's half done and I'm not sure what's going on But it's that I think it's it's in tusk. It's kind of a focused small compass and everything With only a few characters and yoga hoses sort of goes back to Kevin's like vast menagerie of characters and everything Yeah, there's flashbacks I play Adrianne Archon to the Canadian Nazi from the 30s So and she plays a gym teacher and just a present day Guru, so it's it's all over the place, but it's a lot of fun as a Canadian. I'm just gonna ask you

27What do you do to play a Canadian talk to a dialect coach? That's the right answer Skyping with one and we had a lot of fun and it's my French Canadian There's this more subtle which is challenging in a different way because there's English being Canadians but I'm a French Canadian guy from a hundred years ago and We had a lot of fun and going through it getting the emails and the hours and the Ospetol and all that stuff Hudson Bay There's a little bay book right there. We do some called five questions five quick questions one word answers. Oh wow Script or improv? Script. It's great. Stager screen Both That's a one word answer line Landon or McCartney Landon Beatles Hitchcock or Kubrick

13Hitchcock Kubrick in one word tusk Awesome Metamorphosis. Oh, what was it like when you saw the reveal for the first time? I was gonna end it there, but now I'm curious because I thought to speak in one word and yes, yes the rest is Everything got super good. Yeah, cuz I'm still having like Justin's face that reveal is still sitting right there for me and freaking me out Yeah, what about for you guys? It was really I saw him. Okay, so the the walrus was it was really well made It was an actual suit that he had to get into but he had like leggings under he had like a black kind of legs ski Things under and then he had the face that he kind of like got into so I just saw him with his face and his leggings and I jumped seven feet it was

03Jump seven feet. It was His girlfriend's dog came to the set and it loves Justin and he was in the walrus suit in the little island in the middle of the torture chamber And he was like what's the name Finn? I think he was been Finn the dog comes down gets through the like the gangway and everything and just stops and slowly But I smell my human but I do not This is this country club that had that scammers had set up in this nice community in North Carolina And it like it's this nice community around a country club where they had basically scammed everybody and then got out of town So is this old moldy creepy very shining building where we shot everything and it was kind of perfect for a walrus torture

59Thank you, yeah, that was fun you have some of the best lines of the movie you shamed the Nazi party
