00Hello? Oscar. Oh, hey, what's up, buddy? No, much, man. How are you? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. So you got a week off, I guess. Yes, we do. What, how are you spending the week off? Just driving around and running errands and writing. That's about it. We're not going anywhere. And writing? What are you writing? Script, I guess. You guess. Yeah, my girlfriend's writing. I'm writing. Nice. What, what, you want to give us some, some details? Like, what, what is it about? It's too early. It's too, oh, fair enough, fair enough. So I guess that, that you've been a writer for a long time. Yeah, a little bit. I've been more of an actor, but I write on occasion. Right. But you did. I read somewhere the Warner comedy writer's workshop. Yeah, I believe that was 98. What, what was that like though? What, what is that for people who want to get into writing? I think it's, it's good. I think it's still, at the time it was pretty prestigious.
48And I guess it still is. It's a, it's a workshop for primarily sitcom writing, but not necessarily just a comp. And they, the year we did it, they, I think they had 2,400 entries, specs. And out of that, they whittled it down to 25. And I was with my writing partner and some people were single writers, but we got into the program. It was a very fun program. Yeah. How was that, prepared you for the office? Do you, do you write it all on the show or do you just leave it up to, to what comes to you in the script? No, I do not write on the show. All the BBC writes, BJ Novak and Mindy Kaling, write on the show. And are also actors. Everyone else is just actors. And then we have the writers. Your character has gotten a lot more smug lately. I know. Are you happy with this or no? That's fine. Whatever's funny for the show.
37It's working though. It's getting you more, more lines though, I guess, which is a good thing. Yeah. It, everyone's getting a little bit blushed out, you know, the characters and, and so, yeah, it's fun to see the characters getting a, you know, more fleshed out. You want to give people a sneak peek into what's going on in the office this, this week. I hear it's, Michael's got a movie, a screenplay that he's written. I think we're going to, the office is going to view the movie. That'll be the episode. We're viewing the movie that Michael made a long time ago and finally he finished it. And it's called Dread Level Midnight. You know, it's a, it's a spoof. He loves James Bond and stuff like that. So that's, that's what he did. How many episodes are left with Steve? How, how far along in the shooting are you? Oh gosh, I guess we're a little bit more than halfway through and a Will Farrell is coming next week to shoot four episodes with us. That'll be fun. Yeah,
22that's great. We already had the table read with him and it was a lot of fun. Very funny script. Are you, are you, do you have just as many lines coming up the next couple of weeks? Because you seem to be more of a, a main character the past few weeks. Yeah, I think about the same, but not, not, not too much. I think at the episode where I had a little bit was with Jenna and Ellie and we're doing the Scrabble or whatever on the phone. Right. That was, we had a little B story or C story there with the three of us. I don't think that's happening for a while. I get you the usual lines here and there. Are you a big Scrabble player? Not at all. Not at all. And then that is acting and it's finest my friend. Yeah, people, because I feed all around me, people play all the time all over the, the workplace. I want to see an episode of you
08in, in, with the proposal role. Your character in that film is amazing. Yeah, that was so much fun. Tell people like, how, how did you prepare for a role like that where you're, you're basically just crazy the entire time. Yeah, it was, it was a lot of fun. We got the script and we read it and my girlfriend, my fiancee is my fiance now. My fiancee read it and we're like, oh, this is really good. I, I kind of, it reminded me of four weddings in the funeral like growing Atkinson at a small park, but I could see like I could do a lot with a small park. And it was great. And the, and the audition was really easy. It was just going and I think I just had a dance silly. It was like that dancing part. Right. I just want to see if you can do that. And that was it. And I forgot all about it. And like six months later they're like, hey, you got that part and I, and I was like, oh, wow. I remember, I remember really liking the script. I knew Sandra Bullock was
55going to be in the movie, which is great. Cause I had all this and for a movie with her earlier, like a couple years earlier and I just get the heart and I was upset, but the part was much smaller. So it worked out perfectly as it usually does. And yeah, it was a great part. And we, I went to Boston. We shot in Boston. I worked a little bit and then I had a week off. And then I worked again. So I had a week off in Boston, which was fantastic. Yeah. Had you ever been before? Only when I was little. When I was four years old, we were there for a year. My sister was born there. Oh, okay. I barely remember it. It doesn't really count, but I was there, I guess. But I don't, I don't, I barely remember. I remember the park and I remember the swans that those guys puddle around. Right. It was great to go back. And we, you know, we had a whole week of walking around. We went to,
42we went to Harvard. We went to the park. We went by Emerson College with a little Italy, their little Italy to eat with a bunch of museums by John Kerry's house. It was really neat. You got a couple of films coming out soon too, I hear. I liked Boston. Yeah, there's a couple of things coming out. Boy, there's a film I did called Language of a Broken Heart. And I have a small part of it, but it was really fun to do. And this kid who goes to USC, did it and it, he wrote and directed it. And it's in a couple of festivals. There's another film I did with Evil and Gloria called Town Without Men. That's coming out in the summer. Paul Rodriguez is in there, Christian Slater. That's a fun little part too. So yeah, there are a couple of little things coming out. Nice. Things are coming along. Yeah, it's good. What happened with the Miss USA contest? I
31heard there was a little controversy. Well, they're like, that's what the question they gave me. Yeah, that was kind of neat actually, except for, you know, and I never really think of the audience that the Miss USA had to like, who cares, but the matter is it's kind of like, it's free to go. So the people are kind of drunk because they're just partying the whole day and it's free. So kind of free crowd, which means you get people who are kind of lit and kind of, you know, a little bit rowdy. And so I'm like, oh my God, it's like a hockey game or something. And it was pretty fun. And I guess the question was something about, oh gosh, what was the question? Something about illegal immigration and they just freakin started fooling. And I'm like, I didn't write the question
18and they asked me to read this question. Anyway, it was all good. The girl won. She wasn't my pick for USA. She was actually my number two pick. But she won and she sold the dirt to wings. I thought she was the smartest for the three of them. The girl from Michigan. Smart as good. I thought you gave the best question answers. Yeah, I guess it wasn't as bad as the thing the other year with the Iraq. Yeah, I guess. I don't even know what it was. What was it? Two years ago with the with the girl from South Carolina saying such as in the Iraq and just such as a yeah, yeah. They got to go easy on these. They're teenagers. It's really bizarre. You get there and you're like, oh my god, how weird. And when you first see them, they're like 50 of them and they're smiling at you like really weird. You're like, oh, that's right. They've been doing
05this since they're five years old. Yeah. Not an actual smile that good for that long time. Well, it does that. Very creepy. It's beautifully creepy. We do something on the show called five questions, five quick questions, one word answers. Okay, go ahead. Who's the best writer on the office? Um, Kaylin, Mindy Kaylin, Lennon or McCartney? Lennon. Steve Carell leaving good or bad? Oh, it's good. Roll your most proud of. I guess Ramon. Nice. And in one word, Oscar Nunez. Geez, I almost had fabulous. That's very good for your character. That's awesome. Good for my character. Yeah. Um, pop and bass, my form. Nice. Hyphenated. We'll put that as one word done.
