09the first question is from a diane in colona and it's about hand out there and it is the huge canada goose still in front of the canada gray motor in in hannah albert haven't been there for quite a few days still there yeah i don't know if the hotels there let alone of the uh... massive massive cement goose is still sitting in front of the last time you guys are home uh... the last time i was in the home anymore uh... his parents have moved away from town and i have but yeah no nobody in my folks with a lot of us to the holdouts we went shut the video for photograph in hannah in two thousand five and that was the week and we shot the week in my folks moved away so that was kind of crazy it was interesting it was interesting timing incredibly sad incredibly sad and credit to get you guys help them move
55exactly the boys are coming we've got me and we're perfect we need to make it into the truck a lot easier with all these extra hands uh... i think that was honestly the last time i was in hannah as well it was very nostalgic but uh... you know it was it was hard to say goodbye to uh... you know that that great town that we grew up so yes the goose is still there i have been there since that is a good way to go out yeah that's what the total wants to know uh... when did you move to Vancouver was to start the band was to start promoting the band how come that happened when did uh... the actual move was in i want to say late summer of uh... of ninety five and went home and then everything just kinda you know sitting on the back burner for a while and then uh... mike was in vancouver playing in a metal band as already there yet
42playing in a metal band called uh... the black dogs of depression yes happy but with him they're happy with the yeah then we went out ninety six and and came up with a band name and and found managers and and away we went so that's pretty good for this next question from thomas leblanc in bordeaux france so that's nice bush is opening the tour your first dp came out around the same time as sixteen son razor blade suitcase would have been hugely popular did they influence your first songs in the whole grunge movement why was it was biggest bush one big with a little bit of a bit of a bit of a fight uh... with what you know what we were absolutely i remember trying to go actually get the cassette in town we drive two hours in the city cuz that's a bit of a sad thing that's a big issue in the we didn't have a lot of that seriously is ridiculous but
30i remember doing it and and i remember here in the radio and it's going other than everything's an it was a song and the guy that records records stores kind of like dot not that must be must be this he gives me this cassette i didn't know what i thought it was thought it was bush and he gave me this cassette and it was uh... it wasn't the same i took it home but i didn't sound so not quite the same yeah and non-musical question and i'm sure you've been waiting for this one uh... from seriat lala here in toronto chad do you like the short hair better and are you going to keep it my mom likes it better my mom's my dad not so much my dad was like mmm like the better long we're going with mom on this one and the other one uh... she has two questions here like this one uh... what is the favorite asset of the female you are with romantically in p g answers
18ll question mark wow loaded question but yeah so the favorite ass set uh... you can answer that one uh... might be jimmy uh... mine mine is uh... up for half of my assets so i guess that's what i think it's he's kidding happily married oh yeah but she has control of half of your assets she also has your manlyhood in a jar on the next to the bed this is when this is when i don't want to have a microphone just in saffianna here in toronto you guys rock you have so many hits how on earth you choose a set list of the question
07takes a while it's not easy well what we try to do is i mean obviously we've we've there's four singles that have already been released of those are probably going to get played with things uh... and then it's just a matter of where we play them you know it's uh... there's a lot of logistics going on i mean we do fly in one part of the the show we fly all of you fly together in unison flight yes there's a stage that comes down from the from the ceiling picks us up it's like synchronized swimming it's like peter pam but you know what you see that yeah no it's nothing like that nothing like that so dia go here in toronto you're in the room to he wants to know uh... what's your favorite season he loves winter are you would you be dia are you really
53he is i just look down in the first child i see my dia go is that you you like winter dia um i think the older you get the more you're going to lean towards summer i really do i really do autumn girls don't wear their bikinis in winter that's my favorite to know that i'm not like p g to see dia goes like mom i got this but good question i'm i'm gonna go summer summer was for sure yeah yeah he's an air autumn autumn i like autumn is a good one oh yeah that's still good weather and you also want to know in his brother Brandon as well what's your favorite food mike favorite food think anything that had a face nice
41just for all your vegetarians up there the bigger the eyes the sweeter the prize look at all the faces in the crowd yeah um run favorite cuisine favorite food you know uh i i will eat absolutely anything you almost put in front of me but i a good well done like a decent interesting hamburger um like through crazy cheese crazy stuff on it hamburgers good you're a foodie and you went with hamburger it's you know what sometimes you go back to the beginning i don't know i'll eat anything though denim flesh and ale flesh and ale flesh and ale awesome this one's for dan too actually from scott charles and grand rapids um how does running drum parts in three doors down differ from these guys seeing that brad was a drummer himself that's right yeah well chads a drummer himself as well so he's still suffering
29he's still getting the same tyranny still get told what to do kind of so we we all agree on the parts as a as a band we'll run through the tunes and try a bunch of things and everyone will go that's cool or that sticks out and then everyone kind of argues and uh they end up drawing what i don't want you yeah he writes my heart we all come to a general consensus so that's a group effort because it's all about the song in the end uh charlotte and bushy in winnipeg says i'm a single mother of a 16 year old son who i took to see his first concert at the mts center in winnipeg the last time you guys were here he loved it now he's in his own band my question is what advice to me as a mother who is scared he will fall into the bad scene which most bands get into before making it big in the music business how do i keep him on the right path it's good question it's a little roundabout but it gets there
17i think she's gonna have to manage the band i think you'd be an rock and roll for the walk i think the only way out is through yeah you have to go through it yeah she's gonna have to become the momager uh let's the only way that's gonna work um you know what if she did a good job raising her son then he'll make the right choices so right good answer yes that's true that's it um is there a bad scene like what is she meaning by that do you know oh yeah yeah they don't got sex drugs and rock and roll for nothing um that being said i i've never done uh any hard drugs in my life you know i've played with the same mild ones that we all do and we're experimenting with things but uh yeah no i i don't partake in uh in any of the the uh really stiff ones and uh you know it's it's hard enough drinking
04and and all night long and performing every single night i mean that's hard enough i can't imagine throwing more factors into the equation so uh it's just a it's a life choice and and if she sits them down and and does a sort of a recap on on musical history and shows her her her son and the rest of the guys in the band how many bands have broken up due to drug usage and and uh going down the wrong path um you know that that's a that's a wonderful way to say if you want to end up like them by all means start experimenting with this crap you know if you would like to actually make it somewhere uh and not fall into that trap focus on the music and and uh and do the right thing that's a good one casha gajawish in buddy in poland i just got a huge wink casha gajawish in poland uh ask which one of
56you guys spends the most time on nicklebacks twitter who's big in the social media uh chat not this guy chadly it depends i i this i i think that if we've got if we've got something to tweet then we tweet it you know and that's you know we don't take shots at other bands we usually we're usually defending ourselves um and we're trying to be comedic in the you know while we're doing it but you know we're trying to remove too much mystique and we talk about this a lot you know and i think back to the day when we were growing up if i knew everything that metallica was doing it's like oh james headfield's sitting down for a slice of pizza you know you i i want to think of them you know in the studio or or you know
41with guns and roses i don't want to know that guns and roses is all sitting down to watch a movie together i want to think that they're taking over a hotel room and and you know they're all having a great partying time and i want to think of that band like that i don't want to you know know that it's like oh he's getting his teeth cleaned he's at the dentist it just completely removes all of the mystique of of of what i think that that band is doing from from moment to moment shawn leisert montgomery college says if you're a bit if your band could have a ufc fight in the ring with another band who would you choose and why we just shadowed by definitely do a solo artist a busy man yeah we challenged and rekhaeglesius i don't know somebody by themselves you think you're tough
26don't say that because he's gonna call me obviously uh... i'm trying to get it he's the biggest solo i could think of my head right now so that's a call from him um let me see who would we mickey would love to get in the ring with somebody i'm sure i know who i wouldn't fight with you know somebody like chenate o'conner or something like that she's like she's a badass she'll set you up fire the lonor manzo loyd here in toronto has say her last name one more time lonor manzo loyd manzo loyd has a question for everyone actually so but this one's for mike it's been a long time if ever that i've seen a mic in front of you for a concert did all those years of begging payoff i think he's been avoiding it i don't know now that you have some sort of insight yes we got we forced him
13like when we stand together we needed we needed them in there bottoms up we needed them in there with there was like stuff that we needed more vocal power on and so we stuck it in front of him and he was just like okay and so it wasn't it wasn't him begging we just we just make sure the muted in between songs so he really got back at ryan and we're taking a shot is this thing i'm mike's door room food and i'll have a big mark and i'm large fried fiend the show please that's all he's doing yes yes yes yes uh can i get a uh i'm gonna get a six pack of uh it's awesome very repeatable ronak baj in rajasthan india everyone has a role model or person for inspiration who is your role model or person for inspiration mike stop saying me this time someone else
02role model man i don't know i think it is you chad really and the sarcasm continues um ryan ron model pass the puck to me uh you dad's here that's a tough question your dad's here say your dad father yeah good job my daddy jimmy no crime no crime no crime but that's true though he's not being sarcastic as i've heard you say that before yeah i've heard you say that if he's like my dad is got to be my my role model for sure yeah he's he started a musician and uh and uh still he's always he's always pulling on my arm because he wants to come on stage and play and uh i tell him he got you play his base he's gonna get some rock close he's got anything he's been gunning for my job for years
48he plays jim plays piano he plays bass he plays guitar he plays plays everything jim was uh very very instrumental in in uh in our beginning um now he's gonna feel uncomfortable how uh jim helped us a lot i mean there were times when we couldn't get a vehicle to get to another another date or whatever it would be and and you know if we were broken over in the side you know whatever it might be a van would show up you know and be like guys take this one for a month and here you go don't worry about it and so we'd be in you know some 1985 crew van or something and we'd all do she like Jim comes through again that was so crazy jim always always helped so when i came to music it was like my dad my mom my mom forced me actually she forced me to play piano really on so she's like
33she's got the other half where it's like i'm like i actually thank to the united thanks for those lessons because i didn't know when i was gonna use them and in about a month ago i needed them because i have played so on right Betty where's Betty is Betty Jim is Betty around is she here oh we don't have to thank her then of course Betty i mean they've been coming out to all the shows and stuff and they would watch us play to 40 people at a club called the republic in uh in Calgary and you know Betty would would take me you know she pulled me aside she's like you guys performed very well i'm like thank you Betty she's like why all the swearing and cussing why do you have to cuss to these kids i'm like i don't know Betty it's my go-to it's my thing you know i uh because these days i think if you want to get someone's attention
19you got to throw in the odd f-bomb that it shakes you down and she she still gives me she's like great show tonight lot of f-bombs chat i'm like you guys are gonna play a song so we wrap up with someone called five questions five quick questions one word answers and you guys can all answer cool rotor studio rodeo rodeo rode i tried for a really good try i nailed it i'm newly give you a microphone for reasons you're welcome road all right lennan or mccartney mccartney mccartney no no mccartney lennan the bass man oh you have to choose one now like the
04paul's not gonna hear this okay i like the writing of lennan but i like the voice of mccartney that's why there's the must choose one i'll take paul yeah when you hear a song what hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm depends on what starts the song but what do you put in your social first part the first part
