01Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm the kind of girl who doesn't say a word who sits at the curb and waits for the world, but I'm about to break out, about to break out. I'm like a good tonight. Hey, it's Matt with MSN.C. We've got Bridget Mendler here. How you doing? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. It's a big trip in Toronto. You hear for a few days. What have you experienced of our fine city? Well, I've gone and done a lot of work. So outside of that, I've kind of just experienced food. There's so much great sushi in town. I don't know if it's just this town, but I've had some amazing sushi. And I tried what's it called? Faux? Faux? Faux? Yeah.
47For the first time, so that was really fun. Ready or not, here I come, where you at, the 90s music's loud. What does this record sound like? I heard you say it's more soulful, jazzy, but that's not what you hear in the single. So does the record sound a little different? You know, I think just the way that I sing is a little bit more jazzy, just like that's naturally the way that I go. And Ready or Not is a little bit more R&B influence than some of the other music that I've done. So it was really fun to kind of take that side of myself and explore it more. And so there are a lot of different styles on the album. And I'd say that it's mainly pop influence. Like that's the big thing we wanted to make.
34Like fun, poppy songs, people could enjoy. But we wanted to write kind of interesting songs with fun lyrics and to explore some different styles. So it's very cohesive as an album. But I'd say that there's a lot of different influences, which was fun. I was going to first for you. I mean, you're your student TV movies, but the music video is a little different. Yeah, yeah, I love music videos. They're so much fun. And the great part is you work really hard for however long you shoot, like a day or two. But you're dancing and singing and performing the whole time, so it doesn't really feel like that long. And it's so much fun to work with the different people. And it's kind of like living out the songs fantasy.
21So I had so much fun. We were riding around in cool cars all day. And we basically got to do the scavenger hunt ourselves because they just pulled up to whatever destination it was and was like, okay, go in, do this. Like we went into this one pizza parlor and we were just like trying to explain to them a massive pizza that we wanted. But it was really awkward because they were filming it and they were trying to like get the pieces that they wanted. So the poor server was like, do you honestly want a pizza? Are you just going to walk out of here and do seconds? They were super confused, but it was fun. You're going to come and like your face do you like my song to sing it. You're going to make us record. You're going to shoot like 30 episodes. Right? Good luck Charlie. So when is there time? Yeah, we shoot a fair deal of episodes. So they give us a nice little hiatus in between. So last year it was like three months and this year it's five months.
14So in that time I basically just filled the whole thing up with songwriting which was so fun and it was such a change of pace from anything I've done before. So what did you do with this break? Get ready for tour performing all of this. Oh well I'm here aren't I? Yeah, but it won't be in three days. That's the 7th or 26th. Christmas will be over. I'm sorry. It's the best we can do. I think we can do better. Do something called five questions. Five quick questions. One more answers. Okay. Singing, acting or dancing? Definitely not dancing. Okay. That's your answer. Okay, we'll go with that. All right. Landon or McCartney? Uh, Landon. When you hear a song what usually hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm.
00It's me first. I'm a sedularic person. Okay. Song you've written your most proud of. Hurricane. I really like hurricane. That's on the new record that we're here? Yeah. Cool. And in one word, Bridget Menler. Weird.
