03So welcome to the studio dust. Thanks for coming to town. It's a little creepy look what it's it's it's a recording studio Oh, yeah, but I mean, you know normally you sort of a desk or something like well This is in a professional talk show. Yeah, like I said, I felt like I was gonna be in saw six when I walked into this room It's like first words are would you like to play a game? I'm gone. I will not go there. I promise What was less that we ever played Calgary before? Oh, yeah, I've been to Calgary lots been a laugh shop before No, this is my first well. This is my first time as the laugh shop. You to do yuck yucks Oh, okay stuff. And now I'm doing the laugh shop. It's like a little Roman palace in there. I was down there last week It's nice. Yeah, I've heard it's beautiful. So you're playing tonight and tomorrow. Yep eight and ten thirty eight and ten thirty four shows Four chances to see the D-man the D-man. I like that Does the show change for you does the later show get dirty? I know some comics do that some people you know stay the same
53It depends I mean, it's very therapeutic stand-up. So I mean I kind of do I mean I have a set mm-hmm That I do but I don't stick to you know where it's not like a song or word for word It's no, of course I kind of you know free-flow with it if something comes up sometimes gold just Finds it still you just never know. Yeah, what what is your act like? What what are you talking about? It is a very adult act to talk about every all the important issues like you know Grandma porn and it's a yes, yeah the high topic issues running it in the pooper, you know all the good stuff other Other kids on the boat last week there were there were a couple young comics as well And and you know you see these kids that you'd never heard of and you're just like that was really good Is it just you tonight or listen me if there's other comics? I hope so are there yeah? All right, it's not just me. I even though you alone would be good show. I'm not saying I could pull it off
42I could do an hour and a half. I've done I've done about two hours and ten minutes was my longest show But that is a long time just cuz I can't tell time fair enough they never gave me the light I was like wait to the light and like feels like I've been up here a long time, man That's my show. Thanks ladies and gentlemen I was watching interview with you're talking with celebrity fit club now a lot of people you know Reality TV is not really reality and all that stuff But but I hear you talking about it I was like yes, finally because you don't hear people say yes, there are producers I was hired as a villain all this kind of stuff so so give us the behind the scenes kind of thing cuz I'm all about Behind the scenes in fact, you know, well one well first of all, you know, I'm putting out a book right Dustin Diamond But I know you're putting on a book cuz I've done research for the interview
29But I don't think our listeners know that Dustin Diamond behind the bell It's based off all the behind the scenes say by the bell as I grew up and watched it It sparked interest because you know like you say no one ever you know pulls back the curtain everyone says It's like you know the real world if you put five strangers in a house have you ever been an house to five strangers? No, it'll be boring nobody talks to each other everybody does their own thing It's there's not constant drama going on so I mean you see you know the producers help a bit and there's light scripting and yeah Yeah, you know they want a villain because there has to be an antagonist of course an antagonist What would Star Wars be without Darth Vader? You need someone to stir the pot to make it interesting tune in next week So you know they didn't think I could pull it off. You know, it's a departure for you Yes, which is which is a good thing though shows off your acting right? Yeah, but because reality is attached to it everyone thinks
20And you know but help the ratings that came back for the next episode after that and But the behind the bell book started because I was watching each Rollywood story and they never said anything about Any of the good stuff. Huh? It was all squeaky clean. I was like they didn't put anything My buddies are playing you write a book. I'm like why he's like well the 20th anniversary is coming up You should do is it really yeah? Well, we started in November of 90 of 88 to 98 then we went from we actually aired in 89 Mm-hmm because we filmed it in 88 and then it aired in 89 fair enough so 89 we're in 2009 is 20th Wow Yeah, so you get me part of this I know Jimmy Fallon's trying to get this big reunion together Oh, yeah He's trying to get me on the show big time and I liked Jimmy's and I've met him. He's a nice guy and I don't want to do
05See whether Belligan So long-tried you I watched the Zack Morris thing on there where Mark Paul came out. Yeah, I saw that he was really Zack Morris I was mortified at first. I was like, oh, that's funny. I can't believe he actually did that You know, but then it never stopped he never wrote character and it went on and on in Jimmy's part in that bit Was it which it was a skit? Yeah, of course Jimmy's part and that was going so wait Drop the act like and he's like there's no act what are you talking about Jimmy? I'm Zack Morris And it just did the Zack attack thing where he's playing the car and the big pricks off on and just Went on a little too long for me and at the end I was going that was a mistake. I wouldn't have done that Fair enough. So tell people with this book what give us a juicy story You say the E. True Hollywood story didn't didn't go by the book the winds coming out. It's September 29th
51It's actually a Canadian publisher that's putting it out to nice and it's only like that's like a week from now Yeah, Dustin Diamond behind the bell and people can pick it up like chapters and all that kind of stuff That's our bookstore. Yeah, yeah, and yeah, and yeah everywhere on online, you know in actual bookstores and stuff I'll be doing a book tour signing. I'm I'm probably gonna end up doing a Canadian one as well I think it's funny that you know people put up the cast members on the website There's all these things you know the webs all fell with exactly Stuff and you know and when you're you're getting us behind the scenes of all this kind of stuff reality TV He's not real the webs. Yeah, we got made up things Wikipedia and IMDB anybody can put stuff up There's something on Wikipedia that I was molested when I was young by my uncle I don't even have an uncle like like well I'm flattered that someone would take the time to you know create this story and put that up there Like they put in I am I am DB the internet movie database that I was in 24
40There's all these other films in 24. I would have been a good gig. No, I bought the box that but you know I watched it on TV at them for a day order pizza don't move from the TV. I was never in it There was no cameras on me, but I mean it's you know It's one of those things where when you're famous you got to take the salt with the pepper I mean it's you know you get you know a lot more hate sites than love sites people like you They don't go home and find a domain name to register and get a web designer and design this whole page But how much they like you some do most don't people don't like you they go out and they register everything they can It comes with the territory when I when they got announced that I was putting out a tell-all Everyone it's assumed it was gonna be like sex drugs and rock and roll He's gonna demolish the other cast members and think the other cals that what it was like He was pretty young though. Well, I was younger than everyone else. I was more years younger
25So when they were entering college, I was entering high school I was like to tag a long little brother, you know, but I mean it's mostly stories about me I mean stuff that we all did together and stuff that happened with them too that I was there for and I mean everything's true and honest So I mean, you know if there's cast members out there that are panicking going, you know I'm not I don't support this book and well why are you nervous? Did you do something they hear afraid of because well Everyone's kind of you know chances are you know I mean if it isn't in the book you're you're doing yourself a disservice if it isn't the book it really happened and you know Well, you got to live up to your actions, right? Take your salt and pepper at the same time And so does that stuff come up in the show tonight too? You talk about the old cast members or is it more just your life now? No, I take I take pot shots at myself in the cast a little bit I mean just a few jokes because people expect to hear a little bit about it Right. I mean the majority of my act is relationships and you know grandma porn
14I'm like you said the drug culture and things of that nature and you know, yeah black shop black shop What black? Foot Last job combining words 59th and black foot of people don't know it was there last weekend It is a fantastic venue and Dustin Diamond. I'm sure people will be out for all four shows this weekend 810 30 tonight tomorrow night Thank you. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Absolutely
