13It is safe. It is an illusion. Gentlemen, how we doing? Good. How are you? I'm doing well. This is a big blockbuster film again. This is great. Yeah. It's the beginning of a journey. We're six months out, five months out, from the movie actually being released. So it's good to start talking about it and share it in little bits and pieces. What you're realizing is that... Yeah, we're certainly excited to have seen those nine minutes. So hopefully everybody else seems to be as well. I'm glad you said the beginning of a journey because I heard the first time you met Leonard Nimoy and said he said, you have no idea what you're in store for. That's right. Yeah. So was he right from both of you? Yeah. I mean, it's stepping into that role

02and this experience was certainly a turning point and a moment that really set me on a different course. So I'm still figuring it out. I'm sure he meant when I'm even further along than now and I look back on it all. But from just the first movie to the second movie, yes. It's definitely been a journey and an expansive one. This is a bigger movie. It required more of all of us. And I think that it's reflected in what we were able to be a part of making. What about for you, Chris? I guess if you looked at the big picture, it would be kind of overwhelming. But JJ very wisely kind of keeps it about the day and the work and the scene. And it really turns out being... It's a job and you try to do the best job you can do on a given day. And as long as you keep up micro like that, at least for me, it's impossible to get overwhelmed by it.

50But the second you step out of it and think about the responsibility that you might have to the series and to the story and what's been done before it could be a little overwhelming. Yeah. You talk about it being a job so the script gets delivered to your house. When you first read out, it doesn't mean to go to... Oh, that's right. Well, this is a little secrecy. Okay. Well, the first time there was a lot more secrecy. I guess this time we did get them, right? No. There's anyway. Okay. So go ahead. So moving on from there. The question was going to be... Was there a scene that you read when you first read that script that you were super excited to shoot? Mmm. Yeah. Yeah. There was... Are you going to tell me what it was? No. Okay. But you'll see when you watch the movie in May. Sorry. No, they're... You know, just...

36It's so great. We were talking before. We were both surprised by how big the story was the second time around, but that there was such a foundation of the characters and their relationships and the integrity of the story among the crew of the ship and against the enemy that we faced that I felt satisfied and excited to bring that to bear as opposed to feeling like, Oh, we have to repeat something or, Oh, they're taking it in a completely different direction. It maintained its trajectory, which I thought, its upward trajectory, you know? So it is bigger and it is more immersive, but it's every bit as connected and emotionally grounded. And that's what's important to me as an actor and in terms of the stuff that I want to do. So I felt really good about that.

21You got to wrap it up. So we use something called Five Questions. Five quick questions. One word answers. Okay. Scripped or improv? Improved. What do we do these together? Yeah, do them together. You don't have to be the exact same time. No, it's fine. Okay. Let him know what I'm gonna do. Go ahead. Let him. Your biggest influence as an actor. Christmas. What was that? Christmas. All right. Roll your most proud of. Alf from Alf. You played Alf? No, I just thought I was just standing there. Whoever did it was right. That's good. That is good. Isn't that the best enough to end up? Cool. And in one word, Star Trek. Alkalup. That's two words. Yeah, well hyphenated. I'll find you a way for that. So, shall we begin?
