03Your questions you look cold. Would you like to warm up a little bit for you? Okay, so do you know that one agent? That's cool. Yeah, it's awesome. Where were you guys? Where were you guys when you heard and all that stuff? I was in bed. I was in bed too. I actually I woke up It was awesome I woke up and I was kind of feeling a little bummed out that day for whatever reason sometimes I just wake up I'm everybody does something. Yeah, just wake up. It's great You look out. Yeah, and then winter you look out the window. It's just great and gross And I you know what my phone is I do like every morning and I Twitter feed popped up congratulations on that dude general nomination I was over the moon to change my whole thing. Well, it's been a big year for you guys Like I feel like since I saw you in South Wales your things have just been like amping up Consistently as it felt that way from the inside too. Yeah. Yeah, it's definitely been it's definitely been awesome
54Definitely been really busy You know and now, you know We're doing this this big through up and and then and yeah, and then we're just we're Want to make me another record. So it's not really stopping really. Yeah, when do you have dates booked for the studio? Like is that is it that far into the process? We're We're talking about fall right now to record So becomes new studio I don't know We're debating that right now. It's like it's it's kind of tough because we've produced the last couple records in this We don't know if we want to go the producer route or if we want to Self- produce with Collins Amazing mind like I mean I'd love to record as Colin again if we're not recording with Like our dream producer then we'll record with Colin 100% of these are guys you know tell me the dream producer is you have the album well
43I want to I want to track down Dave Frigman. Oh, yeah, he's done, you know, T. M. Palifley lips M. Jim T like that's kind of a guy I like the work with but and I kind of almost just want to be like It's not him that it's gone. It's called yeah, how far are we along in the writing process of these songs? You played them live or I've been a few live a lot of them are done We're kind of taking a bit of a different approach right now to to hashing them out jamming them out We're sort of instead of just like the guests. We haven't Sort of put this in action, but the theory is that we're gonna basically Just take these demos to sort of think about them like everybody was sort of sort of mauls everything over and Kind of tries to figure other parts and stuff not in a rehearsal space and then we all get together and sort of start working
31ideas together more of a Well that kind of thing I can't really We're sort of just we're trying to we're trying it on the right we're trying to not do a record But we kind of just get together just jam and rehearsals Challenges The lyrics are taking a little longer the some of them are pretty cool some of them are pretty heavy some of them are not heavy at all I Can't actually great one
17I actually sort of I guess that some of the songs have sort of I guess if Just overall I guess just censorship and you know the system This system, you know like I I Guess you know we're getting a little older and we're seeing all our friends Kind of sort of drift from what they want to do in life to things that they're a little bit You know they're kind of just set everybody's starting to settle now, which is necessarily a bad thing but you know when you Friends with such brilliant people that end up just you know working at a coffee shop and then just Getting a job at a telemarketer or something like that. It's it's kind of like You know they got you know Musicians yeah a lot of musicians our friends of ours and just recently just sort of retired
07Having kids stuff and it's you know and then some of these people are just so brilliant and you just You kind of just want to be like just keep going man It's worth giving it everything you have but it's not for everybody It goes back to the thing the up swinging year you guys found it keep working at it. It seems to paid off. It's crazy Yeah, it's Nice to have the last two months You do anything I Settling in tail. This is a record is about Brandon Homeless for the last couple years just to ring consistently sure it's like now we're like redding and stuff
53Which is pretty cool. It's big big step for us moving in with all our Yeah, I just got a press release for you guys like 20 minutes ago It's crazy. I can't say no about the generation about I guess it's the tigers is a signal Yeah, you're really so you want to give me a back story on that or bring it up Since the tigers, I guess it's sort of just It's kind of it's kind of it's a little dark. It's sort of like I mean I don't Such a cleat Right about a post-apocalyptic world But that's kind of what it's sort of about it's sort of like You know we just keep heading in the same direction that we're going and and Actually, I don't want to quote
46Well, okay, so there's this this that one quote in the watchman where where night owl He says to the comedian he's like what happened what happened to the American Dream and then the comedian Oh, it's Adam and he says it came true and and like, you know This is when the like all of societies and disarray and everything's just gone to shit And so I guess that's kind of what it's just just a girl that Sort of is just sort of rolling the earth and just sort of lost in this Kind of world and it's not a Olympic stuff. Yeah, it's not a song that I ever really wanted to write it just sort of They're just sort of fit the five of the song. It's kind of depressing actually What's with the obsession of tigers?
34Well, I don't know Is it actually no, it's like a year of the rat or something like that. I think it was the Talk is not really no I think it actually when we really started as the year of the dragon and and that's what that's whenever it was Like what's it the tiger thing? So you're the tiger you know, it's not Like I didn't want to pick a bone with you guys because the first lyric on the record or just to drive in your drunk I had these her dishes right along. Yeah, kind of Glorifying drunk drive well, it's well, it's not yeah, I don't know what I'm saying. I feel bad doing that to you No, it's not it's just like The song is just basically about me being stupid and like 15 or 14 years old just
24You know trying to hang up with all the cool kids. Yes, I'm just You know just being young and retarded Alright, yeah, well young and stupid Yeah, I don't know I was I was a stupid kid So I did those sorts of things just get you know hang out with them all the All the cooler kids that steal their parents cars Yeah, it's I guess it's not really like clear. I didn't articulate that well enough in the lyrics about no No, it's fine. I just I always really did. I remember sitting in the car with someone and they were like he just say that Yeah, I guess he did well, it's and it's also kind of it's also sort of just like You know when someone's something is someone's doing something, you know not so great and you just
11You just go along with it. You just you know, you kind of just have the search To do something bad or stupid, you know, it's kind of bad It's you know and and there's no there's no like justification for anything like that You can't just you can't just be like oh, that is a cool thing to do That's you know, you're not like I thought this through and I'm gonna go ride along with some drum driving But it's kind of like when you're young and you don't really understand consequences so well you You do stupid things Sort of call you but I'm always I always wondered no, I'm glad I'm glad you did because yeah What's with this they could don't drive you? People other people I brought it up. Yeah, we're like it's not to change it We're playing yeah, it's it's not what I chose Stuff yeah change it to drive all night long. Oh, yeah, okay
59Also, just as edgy cuz you can get tired like really tired on the road man Talking about her is you barely spoke you're right and what about the urge to jump off the stage every night You still doing that I should do that you watch it and be like To know it depends on Or if the room is falling anything crazy ever happened It was anyone ever dropped you if you lost you yes Yeah, what is the rest? I don't really didn't drop that bad knock on what every night though when I did it like it was like yeah Pretty consistent thing is like one of these nights I'm gonna really right screw my neck up this one time Jason followed me though I was like you both can do it. Oh that was what we call us the night went for it everyone was ready And no one saw him jump though. So he just I just see this guy bale into the abyss But he did like a full 190 stage that you're always like a little bit more
47Yeah, we go and do it make sure I got some eye contact It's fun Now you settled you're not doing anymore settling a stop It just depends on room, okay, so it is an urge I need to do this now. Okay, you got to deal when you shouldn't do it. That's true This sounds dangerous So five quick questions, I know we've done this before but my questions one more answers rotor studio Let it know what carney When you when you hear a song usually hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm melody song you've written your most problems I like New video. Yeah, there's some crazy green screen. Yeah, I'd say that's a gun
37Let's talk about that video. So how why why is six that tires a single but new video for guns No, no, it's cool though the treatments Amazing like we're so excited to see what like and we're part of this one We love being a part of the things a video process The treatments wonderful I can't wait for you're not gonna be more than that. No, okay? I will when it's okay. What are we gonna see it? You know that one well it gets filmed Pretty soon, okay, so I would imagine a month or two was edited yourself cool. Yeah No, and I think it's the last one for the record to which is kind of yeah It's the last chapter which is yeah sad and kind of nice to start fresh again sure In one word you found one
24Cold I was back to the beginning it's kind of full circle with you being cold and depressed and waking up all sad Yeah, that's such a it's a weapon It's like this light sunny pop and be like we're depressed It's all the rain and Vancouver you guys got to move this way no Yeah Where's my word my word for you come blonde. Yeah, I said cold as well. I want to say I can't And what it so what see roe vazoos
12New record, I guess that's pretty much the whole year. I was gonna ask you what are the plans for this year But that's that's gonna be the oh, yeah, we're gonna we're doing a ton of summer festivals. Which is awesome nice Yeah, a lot of stage that yeah, there you go Yeah, I think the writing process Nice to get in Yeah, yeah awesome. All right, we're good.
