00Hi, I'm Terry Clark and you're watching MSN exclusives Good to see you again good to see you too. You know from there. I do remember you I remember you're very you with very sparkly eye makeup at the junos was it like I just remembered looking at you Oh, yes. Oh my god. Yes. I don't think I did my eye makeup at the junos. Oh, yeah, they put glitter

47They put glitter. I remember very sparkly. So how things been over the year? I mean you've released this process record since then very good very busy was after the junos actually In the airport that the label approached me about doing the classes for real right after that Okay, but you've been wanting to do it for a long time I'm like since I was a kid. I wanted to record this kind of stuff So I mean this is a hardcore country like I grew up listening to that I wanted my whole first album to just be honky-tonk Barroom, you know two steps But I had to also play nice with the commercial aspects at radio and things like that So, you know, I I kind of blended it with more kind of rock is sort of but it's always had a traditional We into it. So it's not that huge of a stretch for me as a singer and emotionally to be doing these songs So it's a lot of fun and the tour has been so successful

33I there are a lot of people that love this stuff besides me How are they putting this up? I mean you can hear Kira Isabella playing in the background right now That's the noise that we're hearing cuz she's on stage right now as we as you're about to go on stage What's the pressure talking to you? I feel like you should be giving something with your voice. Well, it's really hard for me that I can't turn tune out music and have a conversation I'm not even at a restaurant. So it's like it's hard for me. I'm just Yeah That was saying that was me. How are you putting the classics in both with all your songs? I do a whole section in the mill. It's the first time I've ever had like three sections of a show the first section It's it's it's uh, you know Just me doing my thing and then the whole set changes the whole mood changes and not to give the whole tour away But we basically bring the Grandma Wapri stage. I heard you have the microphone

19We have an actual authentic opera stand. They lent us the microphone stand from the opera stage How was that to get? It I I was gonna replicate it and they they just offered to give me the actual deal and I thought well the real things better than you know a copy any day so So we've had a case built for it We're taking it out and we have a projection machine with all the images of the original artists of the songs flashing behind me Great big huge ones like it creates a whole other show within a show and I've never done anything like that I've never had a show a 90 minute show go by so fast because it feels like I'm playing three mini shows in one and There's a costume change and it's it's very different and it's got it's gotten Stellar across the board reviews everybody's just loving it. So it's working

07I'm sure I'm safe to see it tonight We're actually talking about adding more in the fall because so many people couldn't get tickets because so many of them have sold out and Not a bad problem. I know there's some places we probably could have done consecutive nights that maybe we'll come back to I don't know But we're um talking about maybe extending it into the fall a little bit and doing some more cool in the states too Or just up here and then we're gonna go into the States before the holidays to do a few years on the road all year Yeah, pretty much. I'm gonna take some time to go fishing this summer though. My cottage. Oh, yeah Yeah, you're a fisher. I like to go bass fishing. Yeah Bass fishing. Yeah, I enjoy reeling them in and letting them go. The thing that's where the conversation was gonna know about how big is the biggest fish you've got? Oh probably around five and a half pounds. That's big as I thought. I don't know. I don't fish. That's pretty big. Congratulations But you know everyone wants that big old eight nine pounder that they can mount. I caught that

55Very redneck of me. I love it About bass fishing. No, I don't but that could change Yeah, well now that you put our covers are gonna assume there's a backlog of written stuff that you've been writing I haven't I had I put out two albums Back to back basically with a long way home and the roots and wings and I've kind of really just taken a sabbatical from writing a lot of Songs lately I've written some but it's not been a constant You know I make making the whole record last summer that ate up that time then I went on the road and you know I had to take a break in there somewhere so I took a couple months off in the fall and Now we're out promoting classics. So three albums in three years is a lot of product to show up there It's a bit so I didn't kind of trying to not not rush things too much. I'm not really sure what I'm doing next I'm gonna either go to some pitch meetings in Nashville and write with some people or find some outside material

46I don't know. I'm gonna I'm gonna definitely be back at radio with something original in the next year I'm sure you know well Let's talk a classic a little bit just cuz that's what we're promoting and there's a cool Reba story that I like just about traffic Oh, yeah, Reba called she was she was late getting to the studio She was only gonna be five minutes late. This is how conscientious and polite and professional she is She called me said Terry. I'm only five minutes late. I'm in the car. I'm warming up. I'll be there in a minute Traffic's backed up. I don't know what in the world is going on out here. She's just so great I love your Reba voice. Thank you. So I do it in the show to you. Oh you Reba shows up whether she's here or not So yeah, she's a she's just awesome And I you know I was a big fan when I was a kid in header

32I was a member of her fan club and loved everything that she stood for she was so wholesome in country and and she's Now she's somebody that I think every female artist. You know we set the standard by Reba in every way You got a new video to yeah, yeah Dean and I went to California and shot a video for moving on in January we were thinking we were gonna get a break from the Canadian winter going to California. Oh no It was it wasn't snowy but it was super cold and windy with that moment in time So our noses were running we were trying to warm up the firing between scenes and stuff And I tried not to whine and be too whiny and diva like but we had a great time He's a wonderful guy and his time that he spent you know making the video and singing on the song is so appreciated

17It's obviously the new single as well. Yeah, how does that work when you're picking songs of these people? Are you asking them here's a list of a few and why don't we work? I did that with yeah, Dirk's Bentley. I gave him a couple choices Reba I gave a couple choices of what she wanted to do and Cheer for you. That's so cute And but you know Dean I definitely He kind of he had some reservations about harmonies and stuff like that and I thought you know that's kind of the norm anyway Let's do something different trade-off versus so We had to have Hank Snow song on the record, you know, he's a Canadian icon So I thought moving on was a really natural kind of conversational type of thing You know and I never thought it could be a duet till I really sat and looked at the lyric

04I'm like we could be just talking to each other through this whole song. It's just verse after verse after verse after verse I like it. Yeah, we don't too much time. I know you gotta get going. So we just don't call five questions five quick questions one more answers Oh, great. We did this at the Juno so you might have a mental prep somewhere in there Okay, rotor studio Road Leonard McCartney McCartney when you hear a song what usually hits you first lyrics melody or rhythm Rhythm song you've written your most proud of Smile hey, there was one word that works out in one word to every clerk Me yeah in one word my meat is one word authentic is better than me Really? Cuz I don't know how to be anybody else. I

51Love it. Thank you before let you go. We got one of these little stickers here. There's a wall of stickers But maybe you can add yourself to it. Yeah, can you please not take any shots of my ass? Here I'm gonna go right where right here. Can I do that? I think so Love it. I want people to be down there. No, we will see it when they mark in this perfect level perfect
