0:00Hey, it's Matt Schichter. I'm in Sweden. We just landed across the Atlantic for the European leg of the 777 tour for Rihanna's new record on Apollo Jedi Cup November 19th. So it kicks off today in Sweden, we're then off to Paris, Berlin, London, and then back to North America for the New York show on the 20th. On the topic of New York, and I got my little surface in my hand here, where did the mail have to go? There it is. Got something really cool back from New York City. You know the Lonely Island, you know, Andy Samberg. It's Aaronite Live. They did those really cool, really, really funny music videos, you know, in a box with Timberlake and Rihanna did the shy Ronny stuff. So I said to them, you know, I know we can't do an interview in person for these videos, but it would be great. So could you email me maybe some answers to some questions, then I'll read them off the surface tablet here. So the first question I asked them was, where did the idea for Sean and Ronny come from?

0:49Was it something that was written for Rihanna, or did she happen to be lucky that she was on the show that week and just became a part of it? So Andy Samberg said she was a musical guest on SNL that we'd blocked ourselves in our office trying to think of an idea for her to be in a short. We actually had a different idea that we worked on all day and even played for her, but at the last minute we decided to scrap it and shy Ronny idea was making us laugh, so we wrote it up around 2am and went for it the next day. That's talent. So then I asked did she lay down her versus the way you had originally envisioned, or did it become more of a collaboration when she came on board? And Akiva wrote, she actually matched our teb vocal almost to the note, which made us look brilliant because her voice makes basically everything sound like a hit. Her voice is incredible. Just, I cannot believe it. So why ask one more question. How did writing for her voice and Ronny and Clyde, the second shy Ronny video they did differ from working with her the first time?

1:38And they wrote, there were just less question marks about what she could pull off comedically, so we felt comfortable putting more performance jokes in for her, you know, like grabbing John Hamm from the hostages and feeling confident that she nailed them. Amazing. I can't thank the lonely island guy so much and I can't thank Microsoft enough for giving me the surface to work with all week. It's been great. So not too much stuff going on in Sweden today. We landed. It was pitch black by the time we got in about 4pm. It took a little while to get out of the airport in the tarmac with luggage and whatnot. And then we just came to the hotel real quick, which is why we're talking right now. I'm uploading the video from Toronto back to MSN in Canada and they'll get it out there for everybody and then we're off to the venue in about 20 minutes. And I'll shoot some stuff at the show for you.
