Wow Sort of I mean we're almost on this leg I kind of drive we're gonna drive back and do a Toronto show and a Montreal and Quebec City show and then an American Right, how is it working with shad because they're they're fairly different types of music I would think for the crowd So far it's been yeah, it's been a success. It's been really A lot of fun to see him and and with the beat to it and yeah, it's not completely removed from
49Is it the same band as the five roses tour? Are you playing with the same again? Actually a duo right now that yeah doing a lot of looping. Oh, that's crazy. Yeah What instruments are you playing then? What are you is it all done on keys or do you play other stuff too? No, I do I play lots of guitar and loop their keyboard and some of them. That's a different way of doing it That's cool. That must be something cool for the crowd to watch. Yeah, I mean I just yeah, you know, it's enjoyable for me to you know I'd be fun for me to be juggling all the stuff kind of in a similar way to How I'm making the music in the studio?
36So yeah, it's a good way to be able to bring fun. What instrument came first for you? Well, I started playing this It's like, you know, I think I've learned something about it so What's the craziest instrument you've put on a record? craziest instrument. Yeah, I Don't know. I mean, you know, I don't play like I don't really play any exotic Traditionally exotic instruments I kind of use sampling and
22Recording is an instrumental out of the time on this record There's a lot of sounds from the building actually that I made the record in an industrial building and Oh, no way and use a lot of the Tacos yeah, the free tune on your website the one that people can download for free at miracle fortress calm has a lot of A lot of room sound on the vocals especially Yeah, I mean, yeah, I definitely mess around with You know, it almost feels like it's two records this new one. There's that there's the darker tunes like Tracers which kind of has like a new order feel and a really cool baseline actually that I dig and then then there's
13I guess the stuff that I would expect from you as well. How come yeah the diversity I mean, that's I kind of always been with me that I've Had a few sides to the things that I work on and I'm just it can want so different sounds and Sometimes I try you know sometimes I'm making an effort to really blend a few things together Another probably made efforts to have more fluid more between them and yeah
06You mentioned take not not taking things too far from its natural state is that why you decide to do everything yourself? You don't want any outside input. I mean it's hard to call it a decision really I mean I it is but I I more just as a person I the musician I kind of just Spend lots of time on my own kind of naturally like any any artist experimenting and kind of trying to discover new things that I can do kind of doesn't make We do something on the show called five questions five quick questions one word answers. Yeah, yeah road or studio
12Landon or McCartney McCartney most important thing in a song lyrics melody or rhythm. 6:00That's how I kind of came out of just getting really into a really positive place and feeling of you know I feel like a really simple kind of groove that there's this one afternoon where I kind of made it and It was really sunny in the studio. I was working in there was a big just a really Kind of opportune moment to start piling major chords on top of each other I just I started writing lyrics and letting try to let that vibe into the lyrics as well and up with the you know a repeating figure and Ended up kind of repeating figure become a rat it's like
