05Hey, it's Matt. It's day three here of Blues Fest. We're in the Canadian War Museum in the boutique looking for some more prizes for Blues Trivia. I thought we were gonna switch things up every day, but everyone seems to really be digging the Blues Trivia. And if you've been watching every show, you probably know the answers before the bands do. So today on the show we've got courtyard hounds, which is two of the Dixie chicks. We got Fitz and the Tantrums, Cold Specs, Sharon Venet, and it's gonna be a great day, but we gotta find some prizes. So that's why we're in here. So I'm liking this. That's a little flying jet. Maybe we'll even try and get one of the bands to fly this off the stage. That'd be kind of cool. I don't think it'll hurt. No, it's made of like a rubber. It'll be fun. Let's walk around and find some prizes. So because it's the War Museum that we're on the grounds of, we've got these little airplanes.
03Ooh, I will take that. Okay, well, we'll see. Alright, we got some. There's more. Some sort of horn. It's called the troops in. Alright. And what do you do with this? I don't know. You can use it on a song or something. Alright. Very Canadian. We've got maple syrup butter, like an almond butter or peanut butter. Well, you guys have made it at heart. I know. This selection has become a collector. There's one more, which I forget what the hell it is. Oh yes, Monty the Moose. I think Monty the Moose, no fans can it up, but I think he's out. He's out. No Monty the Moose. So we got airplane. Maple syrup butter or the horn. You're holding the horn. I feel like you're going for the horn. Well, because my saxophone is and band made, he's kind of a weirdo for these things.
49Can you actually play it as an instrument? I believe so. Then I think. Playing for the horn. We'll have to go with that. Alright, so for you to get the horn, you need, we'll go two out of five, correct? So you just, they're pretty easy. Praise me, Jesus. The most popular blues chord progression is known by what? 12 bar blues, eight bar blues or 16 bar blues? Uh, 12 bar blues. Correct. One point. I did. It took you a second. You can see that you can see you bob in the head to the 12 bars. Black. Now you're going to ask me what the chord progression was and it's one four five. Guys from DAWS, stuff me with that yesterday too. Who? DAWS. Oh, those are my friends. No, they were great. They won some bagels yesterday. They did? Yeah. They like their bagels. Blackie is the preferred guitar of what blues rock legend? Oh my God.
36I'll give you three options. Little multiple choice. Clapton, Hendrix, or B.B. King? Oh, then it's got to be probably B.B. King. Clapton. Oh. It's alright. It's alright. One and one. Who claimed to have sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads? Oh, shoes, knees. I'm going to start using that. It's amazing. It was it. I don't know. Robert Johnson. OK. It's alright. After the guitar, which instrument is most identified with the blues? After guitar, is there even an answer to that? I'm kind of like a horn. It's small. Small. You play with your harmonica. Yeah. There we go. Thank you, God. You're really helping. I am. I want you to take the horn because I'm really woke up five minutes ago.
23I went to bed at like seven this morning. Finn. You're a real rock star, Finn. I don't know about that long drive. Last one. Are you reading the answers off the screens? That what you're doing right now? No, I wish. Otherwise, I'd look smarter than I am. I'm coming up like a schmoe right now. What do you want to play for? That guy. Monty moves. He's got a bass as well that I busted earlier. So he typically goes on that. Yeah, it's kind of busted, but he's so cool.
11Alright. So blues trivia. The most popular chord progression in the blues is known by what? 12 bar blues, eight bar blues or 16 bar blues. I don't have a goddamn clue. Take a stab. 12 bar blues. 12 bar? 12 bar. 12 bar is correct. Cold spec is one point. Blackie is the preferred guitar of which modern blues rock legend. I don't have a fucking clue. I'll give you multiple choice. Clapton, Hendrix, or B.B. King? That white guy clapped him. Clapton, the white one. Who claims to have sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads? Ahhh!
56It's the old... Fuck, what's his fucking name? That's the B vote so much cursing. Give me the options. I'll know. I'll give you options. I'll give you any looks like it because I know this one. Are you saying you're not fresh? I'm close to my eyes then. Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters. Robert Johnson. The one is correct. Two points. You win the moose now. You only need to win two out of five. We got prizes too. We got prizes. There's only two left because I've done a few interviews today. Because we're in Canada, maple syrup butter, like peanut butter, but maple syrup because it's Canada. If I remember from the documentary a few years ago, you both have young kids. We went to the War Museum and found some toys. We've got this little air glider thing. You can throw it off the stage if you want. It's made a rubber. It can be fun later. Or you can give it to someone.
41Whatever you want. What do we want to play for? We'll pitch you two against each other. You have boys. I have boys. I'll go for that. Good because I got this one specifically for you guys. I'm glad you chose that one. We have plenty of sweets around. Okay. All right. Ladies, one versus the other, courtyard hound battle. The most popular blues chord progression is known by what? Twelve bar blues, eight bar blues, or sixteen bar blues? Twelve bar blues. Twelve bar blues. She got it first. I thought it was like... No, you got to be quick on the draw. Okay. One nothing. Blackie is the preferred guitar of which modern blues rock legend? B.B. King? No. Want to take a stab? No. You want me to keep going? I'll give you multiple choice. We'll see who gets it first.
27Clapton Hendrix or B.B. King? You said B.B. King. I said B.B. King. Then you already know what's... Clapton's... She gets it because she... You can say that. Who claimed to have sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads? Oh, uh... Charlie Daniel. No, shut. I knew you were going to say it. Oh, um... Robert Johnson. Robert Johnson! Two won! Thank you. Two and a half maybe. I'll give you a half for that one. After the guitar, which instrument is most identified with the blues? No, everyone says piano. Everyone's been guessing piano. For the tie? Sex fun? No. It's a little tiny one.
12Oh, harmonica. Harmonica. Harmonica. You're up to one. There we go. Um, all right, last question. Can you name this blues legend's nickname? His real name is McKinley Morganfield. What is his blues name? B.B. King. No. Just say it. Uh, B.B. King's got to be in there somewhere. Is his nickname? Money. Oh, muddy waters. Muddy waters. That's a... And I think it's now a tie. Now it's two too. Although I've helped you a little bit here. You've had enough. She's had enough. She wants to talk about Emily. That's fine. Anyway. So you win the prize. That was a fun game. That's a very... It's a good mom way of saying go home. Let's talk about Tramp about a year ago.
23I figured we'd do something fun at Blues Fest. It's a Blues Festival. Yes. A little Blues trivia. Do you know your blues? Uh, not very well. So we'll go with the easy questions. I've got easy and hard ones. Okay, good. And there's a prize if you get two out of five, right? Uh oh, okay. And because you're last interview of the day, maple syrup butter. Oh man. Cause it's Canada. So I'm going to put it right there so you keep your... Oh no. Set my sights on the prize. Yeah. Eyes focused. Alright, you ready? The whole interview I'm just looking down here. Yeah, that's not weird at all. The most popular Blues chord progression is known by what? Twelve bar blues, eight bar blues or sixteen bar blues. I'll say twelve bar blues. Twelve bar blues, correct. One point. Blackie is the preferred guitar of which modern Blues rock legend?
10Clapton, Hendrix or B.B. King? B.B. King? Take two. Clapton? Clapton's correct. One and a half points. I can't give you a full one for helping you there. That's fair. Who claimed to have sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads? Robert Johnson. Correct. Two and a half points. You've already won. Oh man. But we'll keep going. Okay. This thing, it's got to flip around. There we go. After the guitar, which instrument is most identified with the blues? I want to say a sax. No, that's a good guess. Really small. That you would hold in your hands and maybe a singer would play with. I don't know if that was a good description at all. No. Harmonica. That wasn't a very good description. Oh fuck. I'll make shoots. Last one. This is a bit of a difficult one.
57Okay. So his real name is McKinley Morgan Field. What's his blues name? Oh, Muddy Waters. Muddy Waters. I didn't know that. What was the McKinley? What was the? McKinley Morgan Field? Good name. The last one. I would just go by McKinley Morgan Field. Very nice. Yeah. It's in the maple syrup butter. Oh man. Thanks. Look at that. Score. All right, Dave. Three here's done up the loose. Just amazing. You can see the Dixie chicks on stage behind me. We'll go catch their set in just a second because we want to show you some of it. Thanks so much to the Dixie chicks by the way because they were amazing and we'll post that full interview as well with the two of the other courtyard hounds if you will from the Dixie chicks. Sharon bed end. Thank you. Fits in the tantrums. Thank you. Cold specs. Thank you tomorrow. The joy formidable. Am I good for in hand?
42I'm just very excited to have her on tomorrow. So, I'm going to go see the Dixie chicks. Let's go see the Dixie chicks. Dixie chicks. Dixie chicks.
