03Jeremy Fisher welcome back. Thank you for having me back. I like it when you come here He's always played cool tunes and you always bring us cool people like Hannah Well, I'll do my best. Thank you. It's the last time you're here a while ago Been on the road did your first like big US release all that good stuff Tell me about what's life been like tour in the States tour in the world It's a big country down there Yeah, I you know, uh, it's like it's you can go and work down there for Ten months and feel like you have barely covered any ground. It's crazy Have you played the whole country and you just stayed at the coast kind of thing? No, I played all over I went to the deep south. I went to the northeast. I went everywhere. Mm-hmm. And I also toured

49Australia was save your rud. He's amazing. Yeah, he is great and And that was that was an extensive tour to about 27 dates down there. Yeah, I mean What have I been up to it's kind of like it's a little bit like groundhog day, you know being out there I'm waking up same thing. Yeah, the things that are the same are kind of weird things that you would never think about and that I forget when I'm off the road, but the real work is like Moving all your crap through the airport, you know and like dealing with airline people I'm sure I give you a hard time sometimes and and You know, just it's like it took us a whole day today Just to kind of get here from Vancouver and get it rent a car and it's like all the little logistics all the little tiny details that

37But makes it all worth it at the end of the day and then the end of the day and you're like Why am I even doing this and then you get to sit down and play music and and you're like, oh, yeah, that's actually what I do for Everything yeah, this stuff is peripheral Craig Ferguson must have been pretty cool though He was my one big regret about the Craig Ferguson show is over the end he comes over You know, there's that time when the audience is clapping and he comes over that was the only time when I met him really It's a very superficial like yeah, look see you he's smiling and we're talking and we're having some kind of repartee But really he's just maybe saying the same thing. I don't even remember what he said except I remember it was weird And I just kind of wish I had a knock knock joke or something really good that I knew he wouldn't have heard before Yeah, I mean that I could have just made that a moment instead of it being a

24Kind of a gross little TV not nothing against him or me It's just like those situations are awkward because you're forced to do that Yeah And I wish that I'd had I felt feel like it was my job to have a little nugget of I was the guest I should have provided something for him. Well next time Craig Ferguson if you're watching invite me back and I'll have the best neck knock knock joke you There you go. I'm sure you'll be back with a new record possibly soon. What's the deal with us? Two years now almost right I'm working on it. I'm It's been a couple years I seem to be a three years between records a guy as much as I try to be a two-year between records guy So you want to be good sometimes it takes a little longer sometimes it does so I'm I'm hoping by the end of

09Oh nine that I'll have something out if not hopefully at least be done and out working on it. Yeah cool Let's play a song you're gonna play a song for us. I am because we're live. Yeah, of course So what do you feel like playing? Start with Jolene on by my friend Hannah Georges to come and sing with that was beautiful guys. Thank you very much Oh, you're welcome. It was a pleasure. It was nice song. Thanks. Tell me about writing about Writing that well because there's a lot of Jolene's a very popular like, you know Dolly Parton for example. Yep Rylomontang for another example have you played with him? I hear he's crazy Like they shouts at audience members got kicked off a tour for that when I saw him He I saw him play in Vancouver and I don't know him I've never met him I saw him play and and it was simultaneously the most one of the most awkward shows

00I've ever seen and one of the best shows I've ever seen I hear he is amazing I was just like he would take five minutes to tune his guitars to not be happy and everybody was on his side You know and you know you're like just sing when you sing it's all good Yeah, you know really does I'm in a beautiful theater and you just his voice just filled the thing and Yeah, the Jolene thing is I think they're all about the same woman three cents to the same story Cool good to know yeah, well because me and Dolly and Ray. Oh, of course. It's a semi-musketeers Really? Yeah, it's a it's I was gonna say seven, but I think it's six degrees of separation. It is six It's seven with me and Dolly and Ray though. There you go a little farther apart But maybe Hoxley or Jim Bryson will bring you closer. So just the three you worked on the record

47me and Hoxley mostly and And our and our engineer Ken Friesen It was so it's mainly the three of us and then Jim who lives in Ottawa We had a little break in between and he came and picked me up from the train station Mm-hmm And I said how would you feel about playing some piano and singing some backup vocals and he drove me into the the studio and so that's how that worked out cool and Then we had a couple other friends from town and now I'm on there help help with the background vocals But yeah, it was mostly just me and Hoxley that's cool in live just like I did. Yeah, it must have been really nice But you played piano on to I didn't know you played piano Did you start with Canada move to guitar? I? Did in fact I started with piano and then I played violin for a little bit

36Oh, really? And then I played clarinet and then I started playing these are all things that need to be busted out on the next record No, no never again not the clarinet. I'm a bad bad clarinet Is that just like high school band class kind of thing? Yeah, it was one of those things where my parents didn't at first take the guitar seriously and they're like no You got a stick with the clarinet and they took the clarinet seriously though. They did okay. The old liquor ish stick is my dad Funny so you're gonna play a song that you worked on with Hoxley. Yeah, this was the very first song We recorded together and it blew up. That's crazy. Did you know from the beginning that was gonna be something? Could you tell I we took it to a Mystic and they cast a spell on it. You can do that in the back of the weeklies Very nice amazing man. I love that too. It's just infectious. Thanks a lot. Well, yeah addictive addictive

28Oh, huh funny even Hannah wanted to sing along. Yeah, so what's this tour like? So it's just you guys on the road acoustic kind of thing. Yeah traveling across the country Yeah, you're opening your headlining kind of thing very nice. How did you two meet? Lava life really no It's become very popular it seems I hear yeah, I wouldn't know but I but I've heard I wouldn't know either but you know we actually have some mutual friends in Vancouver and up until very recently I was living in Vancouver and Where you know Where's that city Montreal my hometown is it really yeah very nice man. You like it. I love it so far I really only unpacked and Skeet around the park. Oh, what made you cross there? Oh, there's so much to do but I'll tell you a little bit later

18All right. Okay. What made you do it across the country? That's a big move. What's the questions man? Want to know the real Jeremy I moved because My wife is taking grad school McGill good reason yeah, so we're there for at least a couple years I don't know how long we'll be there. I mean we love it so far. It's great as we heard before you love it Yeah, so you're touring east head and eastwards. We're going eastward all the way to Halifax Yeah, I know then what what are the plans and then we're not going to Newfoundland so for my family out there Yes, it's not a real cross Canada tour sorry. It's an almost cross Canada. It's a 14 hour ferry ride. Yeah beautiful But but far but far and rough water no we're after that it's

09It's back to working on the record and cool. Yeah, I don't know maybe if I'm if I'm a lucky guy maybe I'll get to do a couple festivals in the summer and and Get my record done. I think is what everybody in the Jeremy Fisher music camp is Yeah, wait before it of course they deal desk for yeah, and you'll deliver soon soon enough one day cool Let's play something off off the last record anything you want Well, how about remind me cool good tune. I just played it for the first time last night live in Ages and ages. I'm proud like probably since the first tour of the record. I am really that's I don't know why just some of the songs They just well, it's not even on the US record is it? It's not yeah, you're right. So why would I go play it in America? They wouldn't even well

56They think it'd be a new song to do it. Yeah, I would know what to do with it We do have the internet now Jeremy. Yeah, I know I know So yeah Let's let's play that one. How cool five questions one more answers see if they're the same from last time road or studio Road Landon or McCartney Landon alcohol or marijuana Rubbing alcohol to get the makeup Okay, so you've written your most proud of offering cool one word Jeremy Fisher mail
