00what up what up what up what's going on I joined Canada man we're excited to have you in a couple weeks gonna be up here in like a month yes I love Canada it's a women are beautiful so where are you right now what are you doing I'm in Baltimore getting high I'm in smoking just cool enough but he's in cheesecake factory you know what you know cheesecake factory's got these amazing lettuce wraps that that's my jam when I go down to the States man you got lettuce wraps fam you got to get the prize of keen you know to advertise how to thought a fucking best you got fried juke and you got the stuff mushrooms have two or three cases full of appetizers to have to bring my entree to the crib every time that's all right you're making me hungry what's up on

49your hand player I'm waiting for you I'm excited I've been listening the record all day I'm excited to talk about it a little bit now that it's it's finally gonna be out there for everybody yeah man at leak I want to talk about that of course I didn't want to mention that but you can't get it all just a 14 everywhere I appreciate everybody support Godi cop bad this is based on a true story man take my whole life to put this project together them super super excited about it what it what is true stand for all the acronyms TRU stands for the real university it's like a class I put together some schools of thought that I put together concerning individuals being comfortable in their own skin been leading that community being confident just being an individual's

35period man you're being true like being true to it and true to yourself and basically built everything around that how do you stay true to yourself but when you have all these people now now that now that you you're two chains you're in name you've got buzz behind you a lot of people in the hip-hop world and a lot of people in the world are just waiting for this record so how do you stay true to yourself now that you have all this shit going on that you didn't have I don't know a year ago basically stay grounded for me luckily I was dressed to you know have an awesome one on a mixtape run to where I you know I bought my car my home basically when I got my deal with Dev Jam they were like you know do we have a deal you haven't spent any of the money because I was established you know I put the Dev Jam for for a different you know a few different things you know I mean but

21for me man I'm already kind of got a pretty good head on my shoulder so I took care of for all these in my life like a year ago to where now it's just about you know stacking up and preparing for another vision and preparing my next my next best move you know does this change at all releasing this record as opposed to the mixtape or is it just album number two for you as a solo act well this is really album number one as a solo artist I put out two albums with players so you but of course that was a combination of thoughts when you have two people with this it's just solely me you know I mean just you know I'm trying to get the mixtape as a record isn't it doesn't account kind of wow definitely I was about to say that true rhythm was definitely an album format it was a photo shoot it was mixed it was mastered great features great production you know I'm saying I just built on that you know me but you know with me if anybody's following me I

08definitely showed growth I definitely showed you know maturation I want people to know that you know I want people to kind of like you know follow follow this whole journey with me you know I mean and I don't think I peaked out on this project I actually feel like I still have my room to go but it's definitely showing growth from my mixtape and talk about growth I'm i'm curious rather as to your music evolution because you're you're born a few years before hip-hop becomes something so what were you growing up as a child how did you get into hip-hop when did it when did it hit you all the cousins man you know how I go in the family and the household somebody hold I would always put you on something and somebody older with money somebody older in the neighborhood um I met a song called adult boy my role model it was true I just I remember wanting to be fat when I was little I remember it was

53a dude that kind of symbolized money you being fat with a big ass chain on your stomach hopping out of NYSAH NYSAH's right you know I mean plants plants motherfucking ghetto boys ugk 8 bar them jg I'm like damn you know what I'm saying like you know like that that's that's the image that's where I came from you know I mean people get me calls painting loud ass music that's the kind of that's kind of around me you know me my household my cousin played two-dye crew pours and clean just all the cameras just me I didn't have a girlfriend in the high school period because it's too short and a few other artists that felt like you know you just didn't want to post have a girl when you're supposed to be like cool

38you feel differently about that now oh man that's a very lonely night man it's pretty it leads for good material for songs though right so that's all good well let's talk about this record because because you got the opening track there's strings on there this jangly piano on dope peddler that's like I don't even know show tune or something I don't know where you got that from and then you got some slow jam extremely blessed in town so how involved are you besides obviously writing the lyrics how involved are you in in beat production or you know choosing the beats that you want to that you want to wrap over you look on the back of my own and I pick every beat I pick I don't think these are actually pick sounds so that's I kind of build on sounds that I pick you know I mean I'm a sound driver I think I think this album

26should definitely introduce a few new sounds I don't know for a fact because some people told me and I just know and that's kind of what I did I kind of built I've been a sound person forever if I'm ever in a studio where someone is building I could just be talking in my own way that I mean that and I can build off that I just feel like sounds trigger people it's not the actual beat I've been studying sounds and beats for some time and I just feel like it's a sound that actually I've a reflex and just you know actually as a reflex and just makes you just and I feel like you know that's what I look for in beats and stuff I just try to find that one sound of course it has you know six other sounds around it to make the complete beat

16that I pick sounds what is that sound then on doppadler what is was that old showton thing it's actually a real real old sample who this dude did within the back in the days and he got he was doing it to to try to make it a joke but actually took it the wrong way and you know because it was talking about drugs and he was just like he's actually a professor when he's about 50 or 60 years old he's a professor he teaches and he's just one of his projects that he did that was just taking the total wrong weight and sounds like some stuff that I've done before in my life people took the wrong way or whatever so I just connected with

02I connected with him in a couple of ways it's like it's like a sound like a mr. Rogers as kind of tone in my neighborhood what it talks about you know actually being a hospital traveler what he calls a dope petler and you know that was definitely I mean some of my resumes for us you know before I became his full-time EOMC so I think it's just you know I have to do it you know as to do with boats man based on a true story what about I read something and this kind of ties into what you're saying we're news reporters for the streets how are you a news reporter on this record what are you talking about that's important we

49give commentary to the people that's watching we give commentary to the people that's watching what's going on to the in the hood in the streets or whatever so they actually won't have to go there for themselves they can just hear about it comment on it when they feel like it's almost like some form of teaching teaching slang you teach them how to dress how to walk certain things like that if they want to be a part of your your campaign or your environment and so just you know being a commentary it's like you always see that reporter they had to see another crime we are here now it just shut up such a search you don't want to go out there with their shooting you just kind of like listen to the lady like damn it's crazy down that you know what I mean so that's what you do

35so what are you what are you talking about them what what are you reporting back to the public on this record one of two different things man I'm just you know a lot of it is currently bands of course like news and you know a lot of it is just like you know the whole company thing man you know a lot of things I don't know it's sure out of this confidence in me and my material when I'm made in life so a lot of it is just you know individuality based man it's about you know the things I talk about being true when it talks about you know the trap in us and then Dylan and talks about you know strippers to the point why you know somebody that hadn't been to a strip club major's might want to just pick their head in that one time like you see what you did if that's what that

22song I love them strippers becomes like the anthem to get people who have never been to strip clubs just to pick their head in that'd be quite the feet let me see what the hell everybody let me just see you know I'm tired of this crap my husband keeps talking my work late you know my husband said he got on a golfing trip they've been going all we can you come back with lipstick on his boxes yeah I love trips let's keep talking about things here because you said something in there about about teaching people how to dress and I find it really interesting because one of your mixtape lines inspired Kanye to make clothing is that true or is that just something I read online that's crazy but I'm just everything I read online is crazy I don't want to I can't wait when when when the a if he ever

11starts doing interviews again I want everybody to ask some of these same questions for that but but he is making clothing right now and you know he has been a fan of my music for some time and so that is that is the answer I can give you and it's definitely cool working with do you know I mean he just a visionary you know and it's just it's just cool to have two people that feel like it's a deadline between confidence and cockiness and see that as a period to just be kind of you kind of cool with the music the other man so you know big salute good music my album drops August the 14th I'm not mistaken I think good music drops the 4th of September because me and I have a song to give me called birthday song is my newest single Sonny Dizzo produced it and was co-produced by

00Yay and it's just doing well in clubs and I'm happy about that whole thing no live single I got with Drizzy it's number one right now so everything is kind of a lot enough pretty good you know I mean and like you say man I have some joints on now my album that I'm just really happy about it kind of changes gears a little bit my extremely blessed joint my ghetto dreams a few joints like that they just kind of have a different element to her you know still got those ears sound and I'm just excited for anybody who's gonna hear the record for the first time I'll wait through man is just see what I actually put together do you save the good stuff for yourself or do you try and get that out there too because you're on a lot of people's songs right now yeah like I said

46I picked out man got a lot of things I want to say I've been eating more versions I mean I like Ross and Andre some man 16 and a month I'll be on the rap boy do you write everything down do you want to do it the patent paper never never everything's off top your head everything bro nice man that's awesome what else I want to talk about oh before you go respect my vote talk about that let's let's get some quotes on that take my vote I've been a fellas as I was 15 and I remember walking through the mall and later trying to get me to vote doing the Obama elation I told them that I couldn't vote she told my cool as she gave me a pamphlet made me go through research and then known I was

31intrigued by the information that I read unfortunately no eight I didn't have a real voice she brought it
